BYRD (married 21 November 1849), one of the heirs of said RICHARD LIPSCOMB, deceased, is not a resident of Alabama, but resides in the State of Texas. February 1, 1854 Died at his residence in this county, CAPT. STEPHEN McBROOM, one of the first settlers of the country. He came to this county in 1804 and was bom in Hawkins County, East Tennessee the 26th March 1784. He bore his last illness with a firm mind and was willing to die, and retained his mind to the last. (Bible record states he died January 6, 1854. He was son of THOMAS and ------ (CRINER) McBROOM, and grandson of JOHN CRINER, who died in Hawkins County, Tennessee before 1808.)
