Died on 24th instant at residence of her father, near this place SARAH aged 3% months, infant daughter of REUBEN and FELICIA A. CHAPMAN. October 4, 1854 Married in the city of Montgomery on evening of the 28th, by the RT. REV. BISHOP COBBS, JOHN W. SHEPHERD, Esq., to MISS MARY SOMMERVILLE (17 in Alabama; ANN E.). Married in Hardeman County, Tennessee on the 14th by REV. MR. GREEN of Somerville, MR. JOHN T. MORROW of Fayette County to MISS MARGARET F. MARCH of the former county. Married in Montgomery on the 29th at residence of MR. JOHN P. GIGH? by REV. O(LIVER) R(UFUS) BLUE, MR. GEORGE W. NOBLE to MISS BARBARA J. DICKINSON (25 in Virginia), all of that city. Died at his residence in Madison County, Alabama on the 13th instant JOHN W. MITCHELL in the 39th year of his age. Native of this county, son and only child of MARGARET and OBADIAH MITCHELL. Kind husband and father. Left a wife and 4 little children.... Died on the 20th in Clarke County after a lingering illness, MR. JAMES THORNTON (63 in South Carolina) aged about 66 years... husband and father. Died on the 28th, WILLIE J. (1 in Alabama) son of MR. and MRS. WM. J. McCALLEY of this vicinity aged about 6 years. Died on the 29th in this place, ALEXANDER ERSKINE, infant son of DR. and MRS. A. L. WILKINSON. In less than one week, their two children were cut down by death.... Died on 20 of typhoid fever in this place, MR. GREEN PICKARD aged about 55 years. He was a good man, a true man, an honest man and a Christian. He was respected and esteemed by all who knew him. Leaves a large family. VIRGINIA E. LILE (23 in Alabama), wife of JOHN A(LLISON) LILE (24 in Alabama; THOS), and second daughter of JOHN and MARIANNE FORD, was bom in Madison County on 25 April 1827; was married on 13 December 1849 and removed to Morgan County. On 16 September 1854 she died after severe attack of malignant fever. Departed this life in Somerville, Alabama at the residence of JOHN F. BARKER September 23, MRS. SUSAN H. RATHER (42 in Virginia), wife of CAPT. JOHN T. RATHER of Decatur in her 49th year. Daughter of PHILAGAETIUS and MARGARET ROBERTS of Culpepper County, Virginia. ' She came to Alabama with her brother-in-law, MR. BANKS in 1826. Was united in marriage to her surviving husband October 29, 1830. Joined M. E. Church in 1829. Died on 26th, ELISHA B. SMITH for many years cashier of Planters Bank of Tennessee at Pulaski. State of Alabama--Madison County. JOHN WRIGHT, administrator of AUGUSTUS SPAIN, deceased. October 11, 1854 Died in Decatur, Alabama on the 24th, MRS. MARTHA E. COLLINS, wife of MR. CALEB COLLINS in 25th year of her age. Died in Decatur, Alabama on 25th after a lingering illness of 9 weeks, NANCY WILES (45 in Virginia) aged 64. Married on the 18th by REV. RICHARD TALIAFERRO, MICAH TAUF, Esq. of Talladega, Alabama to MISS LOUISIANA (14 in Alabama), daughter of REV. C. L. ROACH of Jackson County, Alabama. Married on the morning of the 2nd by JOHN W. IRBY, Esq., MR. JOSEPH SPENCE to MRS. ARAMINTA V. MILLER--all of this county. Married on the 14th by JAMES H. POOR, Esq., MR. JEFFERSON WALKER of East Tennessee to MISS ELIZABETH A. McKINNEY, of this county. Married on the 21st by JAMES H. POOR, Esq., MR. A. B. LEDBETTER to MISS NANCY C. GRAYSON, all of this county. Married on the 21st by JAMES H. POOR, Esq., MR. JOHN C. GRAYSON to MISS L. M. BUFORD, all of this county. Married on the 28th by REV. B. C. CHAPMAN (volume 129, page 99; volume 134), MR. P(INCKNEY) M. IRBY to MISS SUSAN E. HAMBLIN, all of this county. (she was grand-daughter of JOHN HAMBLIN). Married on Wednesday evening the 4th instant by BISHOP ROBERT PAINE, NICHOLAS DAVIS, JR., ESQ. to MISS SOPHIA (21 in Alabama), eldest daughter of GEN.
