Died on 23rd in Belleftone at residence of his uncle, R. H. McCRAVEY, BENJ. A. GREEN of consumption aged 22 years. January 23, 1856 Married on 19th by REV. M(OSES) M. HENKLE, GEN. WM. B. BATE of Nashville, Tennessee to MISS JULIA, daughter of SAMUEL PEETE (1812 sol (gr)), Esq. of this place (1850 census shows her 16 in Alabama). Married on 6th by E. M. RICE, Esq., MR. GOODWIN FISK to MISS MARY E. SEVEL, all of this county. Married on 16th, MR. HENRY FRANKLIN to MISS JANE E. MORRIS, both of this county. Died in Belleftone on 6th of consumption, JOHN A. MORRISON, aged 20 years. Worthy young man--has left a father and mother, three sisters and a large circle of friends (1850 census shows him aged 16 bom in Alabama) . Died in Limestone County, Alabama on 7th, DR. ALFRED MOORE aged 65 years. Highly respectable and honorable physician and gentleman. (1850 census shows him aged 58 in North Carolina). Died on 13th at his residence in this county, WILLIAM F. PAYNE of pneumonia aged 61 years 7 days (1850 Census shows him aged 55 bom in Kentucky). January 30, 1856 Died--MRS. NAOMI LESSLIE, relict of the late CAPT. WILLIAM LESSLIE of Madison County, Alabama, departed this life on 7th of pneumonia. MRS. LESSLIE was about 75 years of age, was born in Brunswick County, Virginia and her maiden name was HARRISON. MARY ANN DORTCH, relict of ROBERT DORTCH departed this life on 14th aged about 49. (1850 census shows her 35 bom in South Carolina. She was daughter of the above WM. and NAOMI LESSLIE.) February 6, 1856 Married on 20th by REV. W. H. ADAMS (Methodist minister 1832-1918), MR. THOMAS B. PARKS (18 in Alabama; JOHN and 2nd wife RUTH BROWN, page 115) to MISS MARTHA A. HUDGINS (16 in Alabama; BENJ.), all of Jackson County. Married on 22nd by REV. THOMAS MADDIN, MR. JAMES M. JONES and MISS MARTHA E. SCRUGGS, all of this county. Married on 28th by REV. D. K. HUNTER, MR. BURGESS MILLER, Esq. to MISS BETTIE MARCRUM, all of this county. Died in the neighborhood of Guntersville on 16 December 1855, MRS. MISSOURI CONNER BROOKS, wife of MR. WILLIAM BROOKS and on 23 December 1855, MRS. SARAH E. JORDAN, wife of MR. DAVID JORDAN, all of Marshall County; who, with husbands and father, in space of little over a week was called upon to lament the death of a second daughter and grandchild, the son of MRS. BROOKS, aged about 10 months, who followed his mother within three days. The three were victims of scarlet fever. (1850 census shows DAVID JORDAN 22 in Alabama; SARAH E. 16 in South Carolina) Died at the residence of EDWARD D. MOORE of Marshall County on 27th, IDA MONTGOMERY, infant daughter of MR. FRANK and MRS. SALLIE R. GILBREATH, aged about 7 months. Died at the residence of her mother in Lawrence County, Alabama on 15 January 1856, of typhoid pneumonia, MISS ANNIE E. WALLIS aged 16-1-10. February 13, 1856 Married on 4th by REV. MR. HUSBANDS, MR. JOHN W. WEST to MISS ELIZABETH OWENS, all of this countv. Married on 5th by REV. MR. COWEN, DR. C(AD) A.
