BARKSDALE to MISS MARY W. FRENCH, all of Limestone County. (1850 census shows him aged 22, born in Tennessee; volume 223, page 59) On 12th instant, GREEN B. STROTHER, Esq. to MRS. DOLLIE T. CLOYD, all of this county (1850 census shows one GREEN B. STROTHER aged 46 in North Carolina). Died at residence of WILLIAM R. DAVIS (41 in Kentucky; son-in-law; married in Morgan County 1833 NANCY M. PHILPOTT) of Freestone County, Texas 5th January, MRS. HARRIET PHILPOTT of aforesaid county late of Morgan County, Alabama, after an illness of three weeks in her 64th year. (1850 census shows her aged 58, bom in Virginia; HORATIO PHILPOTT married 1) ANNE ALLEN, 2) about 1810 HARRIET PAXTON in Botetourt County, Virginia, nee Lone State State, cousin of SAM HOUSTON) Died in Marshall County on 4 January 1856, EPHRAIM REAGAN aged 64 years (ancestor of MRS. JAS. L. NANCE, 1976). MR. REAGAN was bom in East Tennessee in July, 1762 and emigrated to Alabama in 1829. (Note: I am sure 1762 is an error for 1792, as he was aged 58 in 1850 and bom in Tennessee, and in 40's in 1840--MRS. NANCE says he was 1812 soldier) February 27 1856 Married on Tuesday evening the 19th in this vicinity by REV. F. A. ROSS, EDWARD D. TRACY, Esq. of Macon, Georgia to MISS ELLEN E., daughter of the late CAPT. GEORGE STEELE of Huntsville, Alabama. (1850 census shows her 16 in Alabama) Married at the residence of MRS. PEARSALL near South Florence on 21st by REV. WM. H. MITCHELL, GEN. JOHN D. RATHER of Morgan County to MISS SARAH LETITIA PEARSALL of Franklin County. On 13th by JOHN A. JORDAN, Esq., JOSEPH M. GILL to MISS MARY M. ANDERSON, all of Limestone (volume 148, page 60; "Dres of MRS. BLUE"; volume 223, page 60). On 14th, by REV. JESSE SEALS, JAMES E. DAVID to MISS J(OICE) E. (A?) HENDERSON, all of Limestone County. (volume 223, page 59) Married on 24th by JOHN W. IRBY, Esq., WILLIAM K. SPELTS to MISS SARAH A. FOWLER, all of this county. Married on 17th by REV. JESSE SEALS, ANDREW J. STINSON to MISS SARAH A. C. HENDERSON, all of Limestone (volume 223, page 59). Died near Huntsville, Alabama on 3 February 1856, MR. ELIAS A. HODGES in 28th year. The gentlemanly conduct of the deceased...left a lovely little daughter (who but a few years ago was deprived of a mother's love) an aged father and mother, brothers and sisters.... Died on 18th in Franklin County, JOHN MARTIN aged 38, a native of Ireland and late a merchant in Tuscumbia. (1850 census shows him 28 in Ireland) Died in Fulton (Itawamba County), Mississippi on 9th, JOHN McMECHAN (see volume 197, page 25--wife was SARAH JANE, daughter of ROBT.
