Died on 27th CHARLES, infant son of MR. and MRS. A. J. JOHNSON of this place. Died in Athens on 22nd, R. H. BROWN aged about 32 years, a highly respected citizen. (One RICHARD H. BROWN in 1850 census aged 48 in North Carolina) Died on 22nd WILLIE D., infant son of SAMUEL J. and LUCY A. SHANKLAND of this vicinity aged 17 months 10 days. May 14, 1856 Married on evening of 1st by REV. MR. MITCHELL at Spring Hill, MR. F. ROBERTS of Limestone County to MISS SUSAN V. BURWELL of Madison. Died in Guntersville at the residence of his son, A. G. HENRY on 29th April, MR. HUGH HENRY aged 60 years and 18 days. (1850 census shows him 55 in Tennessee) Died on Monday at 11 p.m. April 27th of malignant scarlet fever, FANNIE, daughter of R. 0. PICKETT, Esq. in her 11th year. Departed this life on Thursday the 1st at 2 p.m., MR. JOEL CHILDRESS aged 44 years. Reared and educated in Madison County in the neighborhood where he died...left a wife and 8 children to mourn his loss. Died in this place on 25th, MR. JOHN ADAY aged 61. He was one of the oldest citizens of Huntsville (note: 1850 census shows him aged 50, bom in Tennessee; 1812 pen (gr)) May 21, 1856 Married on 8th by REV. MR. BARBEE, DR. J. P. COOPER to MISS ELIZABETH STODDARD, all of Tuscumbia. (in 1850 census, one JAMES PARKER COOPER, son of WILLIAM, was aged 17) Married on 11th at MOSES MAPLES' (47 in Tennessee?) by REV. S. HAWK, MR. J. E. ADAMS to MISS MARY MAPLES (12 in Alabama), all of Jackson County. Married on 16th by REV. P. B. ROBINSON, MR. F. A. JORDAN to MISS M. E. MOZART. Married on 24th MR. BRYANT HANNAH to MISS MARTHA E. HANNAH. (One BRYANT HANNAH was 16 in 1850 census, bom in Alabama, son of MARTHA HANNAH) Married on 23rd, MR. C. H. McLOUD to MISS J. U. RICE. Married on 10th, MR. JOEL RIGGINS of Jackson County to MISS MARY E. FOWLER of Madison. Died in Nashville on 4th of paralysis of the brain, MR. PHILIP S. WOODSON, printer, formerly of this place. In Tipton County, Tennessee on 23rd, DR. HUGH F. ROSE aged 34. Died in Lauderdale County on 5th, DR. JONATHAN BECKWITH aged 57.
