Married on 3rd by REV. MR. MITCHELL, MR. BASWELL T. MALONE of Columbia, Tennessee to MISS MARY E. (C?) , daughter of DR. JOHN S. BLAIR of Limestone County. (in 1850 census he was aged 26, born in North Carolina listed as "BOSWELL Y. MALONE"; JOHN K. BLAIR was 47 in Kentucky and MARY E. was 9 in Alabama; volume 223, page 61) Married in Guntersville on the 5th, MR. SAMUEL BRADLEY of St. Clair County, Alabama to MISS VIRGINIA STEEL (13 or 17? in Alabama) of Marshall County (name was ANN JANE, daughter of NATH'L; see volume 65, page 49). Died at the residence of his son near Kossuth (Alcorn County), Mississippi on the Sth, COL. A. McMILLAN, formerly a highly respectable citizen of Lawrence County, Alabama. Died in Bellefonte on 12th of consumption, JOHN W. GREEN aged 26. Died on 8th in this county, MRS. NANCY JANE DRAKE, wife of REV. JOHN H. DRAKE in 25th year. MRS. DRAKE was a worthy member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. June 25, 1856 Married on 5th at residence of E. H. McNUTT by E. H. PLAXICO, Esq. MR. JOHN BOUNDS to MISS ELIZABETH McNATT, all of Franklin County, Alabama. Married on Monday the 2nd by REV. W. MACK, JOHNSTONE TROUSDALE, Esq. of Centre Star, Alabama, and MRS. ELIZA P. GOFF of Columbia, Tennessee. Married in Athens on 18th by REV. N. R. GABARD, DR. WILLIAM LESLIE of Madison County to MISS ANNA BASS, daughter of THOMAS BASS, SR., Esq. of this place. (in 1850 census, she is 16 in Alabama; volume 223, page 61). Died on 8th, MR. RICHARD GLOVER aged about 67 years. He was one of the oldest settlers of Madison County and was an honest, upright man, and a good citizen, highly respected by all who knew him. Left a large number of relatives and friends. Died in Bellefonte on 19th of measles, HON. JOHN G. DIXON, Judge of Probate Court 43 years of age. (1850 census shows him 37, bom in Virginia) July 2, 1856 Married in Tirana, Alabama by REV. ALEXANDER PENLAND, MR. C. C. McKINNEY of Fayetteville, Tennessee to MISS ELLEN DENNIS, at residence of her father, REV. SAMUEL DENNIS (Cumberland Presbyterian). Married on 24th by REV. MR. BARBEE, DR. E. B. DELONY to MISS S. AMELIA JONES, late Principal of Tuscumbia Female Institute. July 10, 1856 Married in Tuscaloosa on 24th at residence of her mother by REV. JOSEPH J. HUTCHINSON (Methodist), WM. T. KING, Esq., of Dallas County to MISS EVELINA H. COLLIER, daughter of the late GOVERNOR H(ENRY) W. COLLIER (volume 8, page 39). Married on 26 June at residence of ROBERT McGEE, Esq. in Alexandria, COL. WM. P. DAVIS of Benton to MISS HARWELL of Talladega County. Died on Saturday in this place on 5th of brain fever GEORGE, son on BENJAMIN and CAROLINE JOLLEY in his 10th year. Departed this life in Madison County, Alabama, GROSS SCRUGGS, SENR, aged 84 years. Deceased was bom in Bedford County, Virginia January 1770. He removed to Madison County, Alabama in the year 1815, where he has resided ever since, beloved and respected by all who knew him. Surrounded by his children and a large circle of friends, he passed his years pleasantly and happily...in early life the deceased consecrated himself to God.... Died at his residence at Cross Roads in Limestone County on 29 June, MR. SAMUEL McCOMB aged 41 years 7 months 12 days. (1850 census shows him 36 in South Carolina) Died at his residence on 29th JOHN M. RICHARDSON, long a resident of Athens. (1850 census shows him 54 in Tennessee) Died on 26th, JOHN FITZHUGH, son of MR. and MRS. H(ENRY) C. LAY aged about 4 years. 566 - (3866)
