BARKSDALE of Lawrence County, Alabama, MR. CHARLES E. POLK of Kossuth, Tishomingo County, Mississippi and MISS CORNELIA E. FAIRCLOTH (ELIZA FAIRCLOTH in license) of Brickville, Alabama. Married on 7th at Frankfort, Alabama by REV. MARTIN CLARK, C. G. BOBO of Coahoma County, Mississippi to MISS LAURA E., daughter of JUDGE TRIMBLE of the former place. Married on 7th by REV. A. W. SMITH, MR. W. T. PRICE of Florence and MISS V. C. BALDRIDGE of Madison County, Alabama. Married at LaGrange (Fayette County), Tennessee on 16th (or 18th?) MR. R. REINHARDT to MISS SALLIE M. SLEDGE, daughter of DR. J. M. SLEDGE of Memphis. Died on 7 July ALEXANDER ERSKINE EWING, son of ALEXANDER and MARY JANE EWING aged 1 years 8 months 15 days. Died on 3 August SUSAN ELLEN EWING, daughter of same aged 8 years 3 months 21 days. Died on 12th August JOHN JAMES EWING, son of same, aged 3 years 9 months 25 days. Died on 5 August, WILLIAM B. LILE in his 28th year, of measles. DR. THEODORIC M. HEREFORD died suddenly in Maysville, this county on 2 August. DR. HEREFORD was bom in Loudon County, Virginia on 3 April 1824. His parents moved to this county when he was quite young, where he was reared and educated and has lived ever since. He had many traits of character that exhibited to his associates that he was a noble hearted man. Joined M. E. Church in 1841...he was married to MISS A. E. CHAMBLESS on 7 July 1852... affectionate husband, devoted father. Died on 7th of typhoid flux, MR. GEORGE D. HUGHEY, a worthy and esteemed citizen of Limestone County. (1850 census shows him 41 in North Carolina) Died near Athens on 4th very suddenly, MRS. ELIZABETH TUCKER MALONE, wife of THOMAS HILL MALONE aged about 58 years. August28, 1856 Married in Marshall County, Alabama on 12 August 1856 by THOMAS C. BARCLAY, Esq., JOSEPH R. ABRAHAMS, Esq., Chief Engineer on Tennessee and Coosa Railroad to MISS LARUA E., daughter of HON. B. F. PORTER. Married in Marshall County, Alabama on 14 August, by REV. ABIJAH WATSON (M. E. Minister), LEVI MURPHY, Esq. to MISS MARY F., daughter of SAPPINGTON, Esq. (sic) Married on 20th by REV. JAMES AUSTILL (Baptist), MR. JOHN R. HAYNES to MISS MARTHA HANCOCK, both of Jackson County. Married on 6th by JOSEPH MINOR, Esq., JOHN T. WOMACK to MISS MARGARET COUNSEL, all of Jackson County. (if she died 1858 leaving 2 daughters they must have been twins or born close together) Married at the residence of ROBERT M. RICHARDSON on 20th instant by REV. JEREMIAH DAILY, MR. JOHN C. ENLOW to MISS CYNTHIA ANN RICHARDSON all of Franklin County. (1850 census shows her aged 23, born in South Carolina) Died on 22 instant THOMAS CARLTON FIGG, eldest son of L(ITTLETON) G. and M. A. FIGG aged 17 years 8 months 5 days. Died at Tuscumbia Hotel on 15th of congestion of the brain, after an illness of 2 weeks, JOHN W. HAMILTON in 22nd year. Native of Franklin County, a young man of great promise and universally beloved by his acquaintances for sterling qualities of both head and heart. September 4, 1856 Married on 27 August at home of COL. SAMUEL J. HUNT, by REV. G. W. MITCHELL, MR. ISAAC N. TEAGUE to MISS INDIANA NOWLIN. Died in Forence, Alabama, HARRIET WATKINS, wife of WILLIAM WATKINS and daughter of JOHN and MARY ANDERSON. Born in Montgomery County, Maryland May 4, 1801 and died in Florence, Alabama August 29, 1856 aged 55 years 3 months 25 days. Her remains were moved to Huntsville Cemetery Saturday 30 August. Died near Helena (Phillips County), Arkansas on 18th August MR. AB. J. ELLIOTT, aged 23, formerly of Huntsville, Alabama. 568 - (3868)
