SMITH CEMETERY (?) LOCATION: The exact location from which this single stone came has been lost but is believed to have been somewhere in the NE/4 of Section 10-3S-1W. This stone was plowed over many years ago and in order to protect it from destruction it was taken to the yard of Dr. Walter B. Jones on Pulaski Pike. SMITH, ELIZABETH ANN - In memory of Elizabeth Ann Smith, daughter of James S. and Mary Ann Smith who died April 11th, 1828 aged 2 days. Note: James S. Smith is listed in the 1830 census but not the 1850 census. MERIDETH CEMETERY (6) LOCATION: Sec. 10-3S-1W. SW NE SW. This single stone is located in a pasture west of Pulaski Pike approximately one quarter mile southwest of the Winchester Road and Pulaski Pike intersection. MERIDETH, MARY R. - In memory of Mary R., wife of Rev. W. H. Merideth and daughter of Sam'l. & Elizabeth Vest, dec'd., who died February 9, A.D., 1841, aged 23 years, 6 months and 16 days. She died as she lived, in the faith of the gospel. Note: According to some long-time residents of the community there were several stones here years ago. There was a grade school on Pulaski Pike just below this cemetery and some prankish school boys carried some of the stones from the graveyard and deposited them at the school. No one seems to know what became of the stones after that nor whose they were. 168 - (387)
