(1850 census shows him 26 in Alabama; her 15 in Alabama) Married on 23rd by LEVI HINDS, Esq., MR. P. DWIRE to MISS MARIAH HELE (KEEL in marriage record; 12 in Alabama, daughter of W. KEEL), all of this county. Married in Courtland at residence of DR. BENTLEY, by REV. J. H. LORANCE on July 31, WM. V(ERMILIA) CHARDAVOYNE and MISS LAVINIA B(ENTLEY) HARRIS. Died on 26th CORTES HUBBARD, infant son of MR. and MRS. C. D. KAVANAUGH of this place. Died on 19th MR. BARNEY MOORE for many years an honest citizen of this place. Died in Maysville, this county on 30th, MR. AMOS VINCENT aged about 60 years. October 9, 1856 Died in Triana on 26th September MARY E. MARSHALL, daughter of GEORGE W. and ELLEN F. MARSHALL aged 1 year. Married on 1st by REV. DAVID JACKS, MR. THOMAS 0. LOVE to MISS LUCRETIA PETWAY, daughter of DR. J. W. PETWAY of this county. Married on 16th September by REV. W. L. WILSON, MR. JOHN W. HAGOOD to MISS KITTIE A., daughter of WILLIAM H. STOKES, all of Jefferson County. Married on 10th September in Albemarle County, Virginia at the residence of DR. M. L. ANDERSON, MR. JAMES E. PRIDE of Franklin County, Alabama and MISS SALLIE PRICE, 2nd daughter of the late COL. STEPHEN PRICE of Albemarle. Married on 25th September by R. D. WILSON, Esq., MR. FREDERICK L. LUDWIG and MISS MARY HOXTER, all of this place. Married on 2nd by DICKSON COBB, Esq., MR. OVERTON GOODWIN to MISS SARAH CRAFT, all of this county. Married on 7th MR. LEVI SUGARS to MRS. M. S. CHUNN, both of Morgan County. (1850 census shows LEVI SUGARS aged 41, bom in Virginia) Married in Athens on 2nd, by REV. T. G. SELLARS, MR. DUDLEY S. HARRIS (WM. D. in license) to MISS ANN F. (E.) THOMPSON (volume 223, page 64). Married on 1st by JOHN A. JOHNSON, Esq., MR. JAMES D. (L.) MEADOWS to MISS LUCY A. HASTINGS, all of Limestone County (volume 223, page 64). October 16, 1856 Married on 9th by REV. (failed to copy name), MR. GEORGE R. STRONG to MISS SARAH E. JONES, daughter of MR. JOHN T. JONES, all of this county. (note: He was son of PLEASANT STRONG, and she was daughter of JOHN TANNEHILL and JANE (LARKIN) JONES; grand-daughter of GEORGE TANNEHILL and REBECCA CAMPBELL (BROWN) JONES. Died at the residence of her father in Brownsboro on the morning of the 12th, MRS. EMILY SMITH, daughter of JOHN SADLER and wife of WM. SMITH (see his death on page 48), formerly of the vicinity of Florence and more recently a contractor on Eastern division M. and C Railroad (Memphis and Charleston Railroad). MRS. SMITH, in company with her husband was on a visit to her aged parents, with high hopes of soon meeting with those she so fondly loved...she was in sight of the home of her childhood, when part of the harness gave way and the horse became unmanagable and ran away. MRS. SMITH being alarmed sprang out of the Rockaway and fell to the ground with such force as to produce concussion of the brain. She remained insensible till the hour of her death, being about 8 hours after the accident. MRS. SMITH was an affectionate wife, a dutiful daughter....The Democrat and Florence papers please copy. Died October 3rd, 1856 of bilious fever, at her residence near X Roads, Madison County, Alabama, MRS. SARAH BAILEY, consort of JAMES BAILEY, Esq. MRS. BAILEY was bom in Virginia February 16, 1798, emigrated to South Carolina with her parents when 8 years old. Was married to JAMES BAILEY September 11, 1821, emigrated to Madison County Alabama in 1830... professed religion at an early age, united herself with Piney Grove Baptist Church, Limestone County, Alabama, August 22, 1854. MRS. BAILEY lived an exemplary Christian life and bore her 570 - (3870)
