January 1, 1857 Married on 234d by Franklin Springs by REV. DR. T. MADDIN, MR. P. H. HOBBS to MISS OCTAVIA M. JONES, both of Tuscumbia. Married on Tuesday evening, December 23rd near Granada at Emerald Garden, the residence of the bride's father, by REV. S. W. MOORE, of Bascom Female Seminary, COL. EDWARD PICKETT of Vicksburg (Warren County) and MISS CORNELIA C. BROWN, daughter of COL. A. S. BROWN. Married on 18th at residence of REV. W. B. DEVER in Blount County, by HON. J. C. GILLESPIE, MR. THOMAS W. HENDRICKS to MISS ELIZA J. DEVER, all of Blount. Died on Saturday the 29th instant at residence of MRS. DONALDSON in Limestone County, MR. WM. H. SMITH aged 52 years. Resident of this county, and was a good citizen and he has left two sons and 1 daughter and numerous friends to mourn his loss. Had been engaged for some time past in building bridges for Memphis and Charleston Railroad. (Note: see wife's death on page 38) Died on 5th instant of pneumonia at the residence of her husband, THOMAS LEWIS in Madison County, Albama, MRS. SUSAN LEWIS in the 46th year of her age. Died on 19th, MR. HENRIECH LEHMBURH, a Prussian by birth but for the past 15 or 20 years a citizen of this place. He was an industrious mechanic. January 8, 1857 Married on 25 December 1856 by REV. W. H. ADAMS, MR. JOHN H. NORWOOD of Bellefonte to MISS MARY A. NETHERLAND of that vicinity, (see their tombstone inscriptions in our Volume 146, page 32) Married on 13th by REV. J. C. ELLIOTT, MR. BEVERLY W. GIBBS to MISS MARGARET ODAM, all of Limestone County (volume 223, page 67--license issued 13th, solemnized 23) Married on 25th December in Pulaski, Tennessee by REV. MR. PLUMMER, MR. W. McINARIA to MISS BETTIE JANE CUNNINGHAM, both of Limestone County. Married on 18th by REV. R(OBERT) P. RIDDLE, MR. JOHN W. WALLS of Madison County to MISS NANCY L. (S.) MURRAH (14 in Alabama) of Limestone (volume 223, page 67--license says married at residence of AMOS MURRAH--44 in Kentucky). Married on 25th by BENJAMIN STEGER, Esq., MR. P. G. LOVE to MISS LUCINDA BARBER, all of this county. Married on Monday evening, the 5th instant by REV. M. M. HENKLE, MR. W. N. PRESTON to MISS M. A. GRANT, all of this place. Died at his residence in Giles County, Tennessee on the 25th of December last, SAMUEL D. WHITE. He resided for many years in Limestone County. (Note: 1850 census shows him aged 51, born in Virginia) January 15, 1857 Married January 1, 1857 by REV. JOHN M. ROBINSON, T(HOMAS) S. JONES of Huntsville and MISS MARY JONES WITHERS of Limestone County (volume 223, page 68). Married on 8th by REV. G. A. MORING, MR. ANQUILLA C. BRAZELTON to MISS ELIZA ANN HINDS, all of this county. (See our volume 136, page 40 for marriage record. In 1850 census "AQUILLA E" aged 14, born in Alabama; son of JASON M. BRAZELTON. Tombstone shows AQUILA E. BRAZELTON born October 7, 1835, died September 29, 1915.) Married on 11 December 1856 by JAMES KELLY, Esq., MR. H. A. BISHOP to MISS ELIZABETH BUCHANAN, all of Marshall County. Married on Thursday the 8th at residence of DAVID BLACKBURN, Esq., by REV. J. G. WILSON, MR. E. J. HUGHES to MISS L. C. ABERNATHY, all of Madison County (not in marriage record, Madison County) Married in Tullahoma, Coffee County, Tennessee by REV. JAMES KIRKLAND, MR. HEZEKIAH F. SMART of Warren County, Tennessee and MISS SALLY E. ALLEN of Tullahoma, formerly of Madison County, Alabama (she was evidently a CABANISS descendant). Married on 1st day of January 1857 by REV.
