April 23, 1857 Married on 12th by JOHN A. JOHNSON, Esq., M. A. B. EWTON to MISS ARTY M(ACY) FALKNER, all of Limestone County (volume 223, page 70; license A. B. EWTON to ARTY MACY FOLKNER--at residence of W. FOLKNER). Married in Jacksonville, Illinois on Wednesday the 8th by REV. MR. GLOVER, PROF. C. H. OAKES, Principal of Musical Department of Huntsville Female Seminary to MISS KATE A. JONES of that place. Died at his residence in Limestone County on 9th, COL. SIMPSON B. FLANNEGAN. Bom in Fluvanna County, Virginia August 1798. Moved to Limestone County, Alabama at early day and has ever maintained the character of an upright worthy citizen. (1850 census shows him aged 51 bom in Virginia) Died at his residence in Limestone County on 14th, ROBERTSON WEBB aged about 67. One of oldest citizens of Limestone County. (1850 census shows him aged 65 born in Virginia) Died at his residence in Madison County, Alabama on 15th, WILLIAM ROGERS in 89th year. Member of old Baptist Church near 60 years. Moved to this oounty from Virginia in the year 1832. (1850 census shows him aged 65 born in Virginia. A descendant tells us he was son of JOSEPH and ELIZABETH ROGERS. He married twice, his second wife being SARAH SALMON of Pittsylvania County, Virginia) Departed this life on 1 April 1857, LUCIEN MOORE BLEVINS, son of the late COL. JOHN and MARGARET 0. BLEVINS aged 20 years 8 months 21 days . Departed this life at the residence of her husband in Larkinsville, Alabama March 28, 1857 after a short but painful illness of pleural pneumonia, MRS. MARTHA ANN, consort of MR. PHILIP P. MURRAY in the 21st year of her age. April 30, 1857 Married in LaGrange (Fayette County), Tennessee the 22nd, at residence of P. A. GORMAN, Esq. by REV. DR. GRAY of Memphis, MR. CHARLES McCLUNG of Huntsville, Alabama to MISS LAURA M. BUNCH of East Tennesee. Married in Marshall, Texas on the 9th by REV. T. B. WILSON, MR. KLEBER VAN ZANDT to MISS MINERVA J. PEETE, formerly of Limestone County, Alabama. Married in Athens on the 20th by REV. J. SEAL, MR. CHANDLER to MISS MARY MINGEA (volume 223, page 70; ROBERT CHANDLER to MARY A. MINGEA at house of M. MINGEA) . May 7, 1857 Married on 28th April by REV. J. R. HARWELL, MR. DANIEL A. GOFF to MISS ANNIE E., daughter of THOMAS L. SMOOT, all of Tuscumbia. Married on Tuesday morning the 5th, by REV. W. D. CHADICK, DR. WM. L. LEFTWICK of this place to MISS FANNIE, daughter of MR. JAMES LANDMAN of this county. Died at her residence on Bear Creek, Franklin County, Alabama, on April 2nd, MRS. ANN M. WILLIAMSON, wife of E. M. WILLIAMSON and daughter of JOHN and MARY GIBBS. Died in this county on the 20th, MR. BRICE M. LYNCH (volume 113, page 49; BRUCE LYNCH deceased; JOHN M. LYNCH administrator). Died on 3rd, MR. DAVID E. KELLY, a highly respected citizen of this county. Died at his residence in Tuscumbia on the 27th after a protracted illness, WILLIAM WINSTON, Esq. in the 70th year of his age. MR. WINSTON had long been a resident of that vicinity and ranked among the most wealthy and respectable planters. He was father of the present Governor of the State. May 14, 1857 Married at Christ Church on the 2nd by REV. B. B. LEACOCK, HENRY ALLEN LOWE, Esq. to CORNELIA C., daughter of JUDGE A. E. HOPKINS both of Mobile. Married in Decatur, Alabama by REV. JACKSON GUNN, REUBEN W. JOHNSON of Nashville, Tennessee to MISS MARY L. HIGGINS of Athens, Alabama. Married on the 12th at the residence of MAJ. THOS. McCRARY, in this county by REV. W. H. BARKSDALE, OSWALD KING, Esq. of Lawrence County to MISS CYNTHIA WRIGHT of Madison (1850 census shows OSWALD KING aged 44 born in North Carolina; CYNTHIA was daughter of WILLIAMS WRIGHT). 579 - (3879)
