Died in Winchester, Tennessee on the 2nd of consumption, MRS. ELIZA R. CLOPTON, wife of DR. A. J. CLOPTON and daughter of the late MAJ. ROBERT WALTON of this county. Died in Memphis on the 11th, PERCY POPE, son of LEROY and MARY POPE in 13th year of his age. Died in New Orleans on the 27th, JACOB G. POINTS aged 52, formerly of Courtland, Alabama. Died on Tuesday morning, the 4th, of pneumonia, DR. LEVI TODD, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed citizens of Florence. (See our volume 123, page 60 for tombstone inscription. "DR. LEVI TODD bom in Adair County, Kentucky August 28, 1818; died May 5, 1857") May 21, 1857 Married at the residence of the bride on 29th by REV. G. TAYLOR, COL. W. M. LEE of Columbus, Georgia and MRS. M. W. MONTGOMERY, of Bradley County, widow of COL. B. R. MONTGOMERY, deceased of Chattanooga. Married on the 12th by REV. MR. CLINE, MAJ. JOHN L. BUNCH to MISS LUCY M. JOHNSTON all of Tuscumbia. Married on the 7th at the residence of MAJ. JAMES H. WITHERSPOON, Waterloo, Alabama, by REV. R. H. RIVERS, MR. ROBERT W. HAWKINS of Florence, Alabama to MISS A. E. WITHERSPOON of Waterloo, Alabama. Married at Springhill, on the 5th by REV. MR. CHALON, VICAR GENERAL, ABIN or ADIN? SELLERS to JOSEPHINE, youngest daughter of E. DE VENDEL, Esquire. Died on the 15th, HENRY TUTWILER, only son of CARLOS G. and MARTHA L. SMITH aged 13 months. Died Sunday night the 10th, at Franklin House in Tuscumbia, of consumption, DAVID P. ELLIS, native of Kentucky in 26th year. Died in this county on the 23rd, JAMES B(RUCE) BRONAUGH in his 60th year; good citizen and much respected. (1850 census shows him aged 52 bom in Virginia. According to our information, he was son of SAMUEL and NANCY (MASSIE) BRONAUGH.) Died on the 15th May, 1857 in Maysville, Alabama, little MOLLIE, infant daughter of DR. B. B. and E. C. NUNNALLY aged 1 year and 8 months. Died in this place on the 9th, IDA MAY, infant daughter of THOMAS H. and JANE S. HEWLET aged 10 months 4 days. Died in this county on 3rd at his residence, after illness of 6 weeks, MR. DAVID E. KELLY aged 63 years 11 months 24 days. Native of Virginia but emigrated to this state in early life and settled in this county in which he passed the remainder of his days. Plain and unaffected in his intercourse with his neighbors and of unsullied integrity he gained the respect of all who knew him. About 15 years ago he made a profession of religion and attached himself to the M. E. Church...left a wife and 6 children. (See our volume 124, page 97 for tombstone inscriptions from KELLY graveyard. "DAVID E. KELLY, bom in Brunswick County, Virginia May 9, 1793, died May 3, 1857" and others. May 28 1857 Married on the 26th instant by REV. P. B. ROBINSON, M. (MR?/) ALANSON BILLINGS of Tennessee to MRS. MARIA A. PROCTOR of this vicinity. Died in this place on the 26th after a short illness, MR. GEORGE DELP. Died on the 23rd, FANNIE ELLA, daughter of ROBERT F. and MARY A. RUSSEL aged 6 months 3 days. Died in Giles County, Tennessee on Tuesday the 5th, MARY ELIZABETH, infant daughter of JOHN C. and VIRGINIA H. HOLLOWAY aged 9 months 12 days. Married on 21st instant by REV. JUSTINIAN WILLIAMS, SR., MR. ROBERT E. CORRY and MISS ELIZA, daughter of the late JAMES HARRIS, all of Franklin County. 580 - (3880)
