Departed this life on the 12th at the residence of her son-in-law, MR. DAVID BLACKBURN in Madison County, Alabama, MRS. SARAH F. BAILEY in the 78th year of her age, leaving a large circle of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. (1850 census shows DAVID BLACKBURN as aged 40 born in Tennessee) November 5, 1857 Married on 22nd October by REV. DR. GREEN, REV. W. D. F. SAWRIE of Tennessee Conference to MISS VIRGINIA M. JONES of Williamson County. (1850 census shows WILLIAM D. F. SAWRIE aged 39 born in North Carolina. His former wife died 3 September 1856) November 12, 1857 Married on 20th October by REV. ALEXANDER SALE, MR. JAMES A. PATTERSON, of Tuscumbia to MRS. MALVINA J. LIGHTFOOT of Lawrence County. (Note: Our records show JAMES A. PATTERSON aged 37 born in Ohio, 1850 census; his former wife died 10 August 1856; MALENCE or MALEANA was widow of JOHN F. LIGHTFOOT) Married in Triana by REV. SAMUEL DENNIS, MR. WILLIAM H. COWART to MISS MARY E. GORDON. (W. H. COWART seems to have been married before; was aged 27 in 1850, born in Tennessee) Married on the 3rd by REV. GEORGE F. BULMAN, MR. JOHN H. PENCE to MISS SARAH ANN BULMAN, all of this county. Married on the 3rd by REV. DR. ERWIN, CALUDIUS A. HARRIS to MISS MOLLIE A. HUSSEY, all of this county. (Note: See our HARRIS and Allied Families. CLAUDIUS A. HARRIS was son of FRANCIS EPPES HARRIS, JR.) Married in Church of Nativity in this place on the morning of the 11th, by REV. HENRY LAY, MR. THOMAS BIBB to MISS ANNA PICKETT, all of this place. (not in marriage record of Madison County.) Died--JUDGE AMBROSE CRANE on the 15th in Brownville, Texas aged 70. Died on 1st near Moulton of flux, MR. F. C. OWEN aged 40; a good citizen. (Note: FRANK CALEB OWEN, aged 32 in 1850, born in Alabama) Died on 18th in Jackson County, Alabama, MR. ARTHUR FRAZIER, an old and respectable citizen of that county and on the 26th, his widow, MRS. ELIZABETH FRAZIER. (In 1850 census he was aged 55, bom in North Carolina and she was 53 bom in North Carolina) Died on Friday night the 30th, MRS. MARY SUSAN BRADFORD, wife of MR. HAMILTON G(EORGE) BRADFORD and daughter of JOHN WARD, deceased, all of this county. (In 1850 she was 24 bom in Alabama) Died in this place on the 1st suddenly of apoplexy, MRS. NORTHCUT, an estimable old lady. November 19, 1857 Married on the 11th by REV. M. E. JOHNSON, DAVID WADE, JR. to MISS MARY T. SIBLEY, all of this county. Married on the 12th at the residence of JONATHON MAYHEW, Esq. of this vicinity by REV. DR. ERWIN, PAUL J. WATKINS, Esq. of Lawrence County to MRS. MARY E. MORRISON of Huntsville. Married in Tuscumbia, Alabama on the 15th by REV. MR. CLINE, MR. J. D. ROSSER of Memphis and MISS SALLIE E. SIMPSON, daughter of WILLIAM SIMPSON, Esq. Died in his 63rd year on the 6th, WILLIAM WARREN, Esq., an old and highly respected citizen of Lawrence County. (1850 census shows him aged 56 bom in Georgia) Died on the 12th at hotel of D. M. MARTIN, Esq. in Bellefonte, Alabama, MR. YOUNG W. STOKES aged about 36. November 26 1857 Married on the 18th by REV. JOSEPHUS SHACKELFORD at the residence of COL. I(SAAC) N. OWEN in Moulton, MR. WILLIAM F(RANKLIN) OWEN to MISS CARRIE N(ORVEL) WALLACE, daughter of HON. JAMES B(RANDON) WALLACE of Tuscaloosa. Died on the 20th of September, EMMA MASON, daughter of R. G. and MARY A. SCOTT aged 3 months. December 3, 1857 Married on the evening of 19th by REV. M. H. BONE, COL. JOHN M. WRIGHT to MISS MARY STEGAR, second daughter of ALLEN STEGER, Esq., all of this county.
