GEORGE EWING, formerly of Huntsville, Alabama to MISS KATE STEVENS of Noxubee County, Mississippi. Married on 7th at the residence of MR. JOHN R. GEORGE by DAVID L. DINSMORE, Esq., MR. JOHN T. HAMPTON to MISS SARAH ANN CROW, all of Lawrence County, Alabama. (In license it is JOHN J. W. HAMPTON) Married on 7th by REV. P. P. ROBINSON, MR. JAMES GOOCH and MISS KATE SEVERS, all of this county. Married on 20th ult by REV. H. N. PHARR, MR. JOSEPH W. PHILLIPS, Editor of Chambers Tribune to MISS ELIZA S. (N. in license), daughter of COL. CHARLES McLEMORE of Chambers County (license says married December 20, 1857). Married in Talladega County on 24th ult. by REV. A. B. McKORKLE, MR. JASPER E. WILSON to MISS DARTHULA M., daughter of GEN. JACOB T. BRADFORD. Died on 20th December, MR. JOSEPH G. EVETTS of Lawrence County, Alabama aged 64 years 9 months 21 days. (In 1850 aged 57 bom in North Carolina) Died in Rusk County, Texas November 30, 1857, MRS. MARY EUBANK, wife of THOMAS EUBANK (58 in Virginia; 1812 pension--married in Bedford County, Virginia 1816--March 7 MARY GIBSON), formerly a citizen of Lawrence County, Alabama aged about 70 years. (In 1850 aged 55 born in Virginia) Died in this place very suddenly on 1st of November 1857 of apoplexy, MRS. MARTHA ALLEN NORTHCUT aged 65 years 3 months. Bom in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, married quite young. Moved to Tennessee thence to Alabama where she remained until time of her death. For last 10 years a resident of this place. She and 7 daughters composed her family... Baptist. (To be continued in a later volume) April 10 1878 Died in Huntsville Saturday, April 6th of pneumonia, MR. JOHN HUEY in his 73rd year, an old and esteemed citizen of this county and one of the eldest members of the Helion Masonic Lodge and for the past 25 years held the position of tylor. May 15 1878 Died in this city early this morning, MRS. L(OUISA) A. HEREFORD, beloved consort of MR. CHARLES A (should be W.) HEREFORD in her 43rd year of a painful and lingering illness. Member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church... left her husband and two daughters to mourn her loss. Died near this city last night, ALFRED ELLETT in his 70th year. Married at Athens, Alabama (Limestone County) Thursday the 9th instant at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 8 p.m. by REV. G. W. MITCHELL, REV. R. W. BENGE, pastor of said church to MISS HATTIE E. TYUS (7 in Alabama; daughter of MRS. ANGELINA TYUS). Married at the residence of MRS. FANNIE SHOENBERGER in this vicinity on May 15, 1878 by REV._G. W, MITCHELL of Athens (Limestone County) MR. DAVID K. WEST of Giles County, Tennessee to MRS. SUE E. McCLELLAN, daughter of the late CHARLES STRONG of Madison County. May 22 1878 Married at the residence of MR. W. A. BLAIR in this city at 9% o'clock this morning, MR. JAMES H. MAYHEW and MISS MATILDA S. FRENCH, REV. MR. GRAVES officiating. July 3 1878 Died Saturday last, 22nd ult. at his plantation near Canton, Mississippi, HENRY C. G. SHACKELFORD. JUDGE SHACKELFORD held several positions of honor in his state and was a gentleman of high culture and dignified deportment. He married a daughter of the late CAPTAIN GEORGE STEELE. This widow and children have our sympathy. August 21, 1878 REV. JOHN MURRYA ROBERTSON departed this life at his residence in the vicinity of Huntsville Wednesday night August 7th... resolutions of respect by Church of Nativity, J. M. BANISTER, Rector. 589 - (3889)
