They had 3 boys, two of whom died and only one, 14 years of age, survives. July 4, 1884 Died in Huntsville at the residence of his cousin, MRS. BLUNT, on Thursday, July 3rd, ex-governor, DAVID P. LEWIS aged 63. September 12, 1884 Departed this life at her home in this city on Sunday, September 7th, MRS. MARY A. McCULLOUGH, wife of A. W. McCULLOUGH, Esq. in her 43rd year. October 2 1821 $10 Reward; Runaway on the night of the 5th instant a negro man named JOE, a bright mulatto; formerly belonged to COL. POPE and a servant at the Bank in Huntsville. JOHN J. WINSTON, Madison County September 8 near Triana (volume 6, #271). October 29, 1822 Died at the residence of her son in Cotton Fort (Limestone County), Alabama, MRS. HANNAH DEWOODY, consort of WM. DEWOODY, deceased, on the 13th July 1822 aged 54 years. Note: WILLIAM DEWOODY married in Washington County, Tennessee HANNAH ALEXANDER 26 March 1791. See "Suanders Early Settlers" page 106, JOHN SIMMONS and the DEWOODYS into which family he married more than 61? years sihce descended the Tennessee River in a flat boat. The DEWOODYS landed at a place called Cotton-Gin Port in Limestone County. The DEWOODYS were a very respectable family and descended from WM. DEWOODY who emigrated from Ireland when 18 years of age. His wife was HANNAH ALEXANDER, a Pennsylvanian by birth. They had a large family of children, one of them, JOHN, was a Cumberland Presbyterian preacher. One daughter, ELIZA, married JAS. HUBBARD, another daughter, AGNES G.. married JOHN SIMMONS. Ancestors 592 - (3892)
