June 16, 1825 "ROBERT J. FARRELL of Shelby County and MISS TEMPERANCE WORRILL of St. Clair County both late of South Carolina .were married in St. Clair County, Alabama 9 May!' May 10, 1825 "JAMES H. SMYTH died at Cahawba, Alabama 14 April 1825 aged about 35 years. He was a printer and a native of Pennsylvania. The deceased assisted in the discharge of cannon on the 5th of April, the day on which GENERAL LAFAYETTE arrived there, and, unfortunately, after a few discharges in quick succession, and upon the ramming down a cartridge by the deceased, it exploded, and so much injured him as to cause his death." May 21, 1825 "MAJOR WILLIAM HENRY died in this city 15 May 1825. He was a native of Virginia and removed to St. Stephens in the state of Alabama several years ago, where his family now resides. MAJ. HENRY, during the last war, was an active and intrepid officer. He has left a wife and several children." September 12, 1826 "BEIRNE, CAPT. FRANCIS, a native of Lisle, France, aged 36 years, died 23 July, 1826, on board the steamboat HERALD, on his passage from Mobile to Demopolis in Alabama. He was a soldier in Napoleon's Army and was one of the survivors of the Russian Campaign, in which he was wounded and made prisoner." RICHMOND (VIRGINIA) ENQUIRER October 17, 1837 Died in Perry County, Alabama on Tuesday the 19th ult of bilious fever, MEREDITH SLATER, formerly an old and respected citizen at New Kent County, Virginia. March 2, 1850 Married in the Methodist Church in this city, on Wednesday evening February 27th, MR. RUFUS W. COBB of Alabama to MISS MARGARET W. McCLUNG, daughter of COL. HU L. McCLUNG of this city.
