Died at residence of her step-father, MR. W. D. GIBSON, 5 miles west of Grove Hill, the night of 28th, MRS. JANE PUGH, after a protracted illness. August 11, 1881 W. H. F. WAITE, deceased. N. M. CALHOUN, executor. Letters testamentary granted 9 July 1881. August 25, 1881 Died in Grove Hill July 29th, 1881 EMMA C. WIMBISH, eldest daughter of MR. T. A. and MRS. M. E. WIMBISH after a painful illness of 7 days. Born May 27, 1857. September 1, 1881 Obituary A. J. BENSON (34 in Georgia) died at his home on 15 July last. Born in Hancock County, Georgia December 5, 1813 and came to Clarke County 1814. Married JANE HENDLEY February 5, 1835 and became a member of Baptist Church 22 September 1832... devoted husband and father. MISS NANCY PHILLIPS, daughter of MR. G. W. PHILLIPS who lives near this place died 29th ult after a brief illness. September 8, 1881 MRS. SNODGRASS, wife of SAML SNODGRASS of Baski and daughter of MRS. ADALINE and the late H. P. RIVERS, became the mother of 3 little boys weighing about 6 pounds each. MRS. MATILDA HENDERSON (60 in North Carolina; MALINDA in census) died at residence of her son, MR. J. M. FINCH, some 3 miles south of Suggsville this county 4th instant at 91 years. MRS. HENDERSON was one of early settlers of this county and knew much of history. She was bom in Halifax County, North Carolina 22 December 1789 and came to Clarke County 1810 and married HITE FINCH in January 1811. In 1823 she married NATHANIEL HENDERSON and in 1844 again became a widow. She left many relatives and friends. MR. WM. FLUKER (13 in Alabama; son of GEO.) of Boiling Springs, Wilcox County, Alabama has sent a bundle of flax that was grown by MR. ALEX. CAMMACK on Bassett's Creek near Suggsville this county in year 1815 or 1816. We cannot realize this flax is 65 years old! For many years MR. FLUKES was a resident of this county and the ashes of his parents sleep in our soil. Died in Lower Peach Tree at 4:30 a.m., little ELLA POME, daughter of D. C. McCASKEY, JR. and MRS. ANNA McCASKEY at 1 year 23 days. September 15, 1881 Land office“"ELIZ. CHRISTIAN, widow of JAS. A. CHRISTIAN, homestead entry number 2325 for SWF of SW% S7, NWj; of NWj; of 18-6 NR3E. MRS. DR. KROUSE died at her residence 3 miles south of Suggsville this county this night after a protracted illness. September 22, 1881 Died in Hernando County, Florida near Brooksville August 16, 1881 JOSIAH RUTLEDGE at 69-10-16. Old citizen of this county having moved to Florida last year. Died on morning of 11, infant of MR. C. C. DAUGHERTY. Also on 15th, IRA BELLE at 2 years, daughter of same. September 29, 1881 Died near Corsicana, Texas on Sth, CLARA, daughter of L. L. and N. E.
