Cemeteries of Madison County, Vol. I, page 217

BINFORD CEMETERY LOCATION: Sec. 25-3S-1W. SW SE NW. One-half mile due east of the Huntsville Memory Garden east entrance and approximately 1/6 mile north of Highway 72 to Athens. Note: This cemetery covers a large area which is completely concealed by a thick, tangled growth of ivy. The remains of another box type tomb is here but I couldn't locate the inscription bearing lid. There was also a part of a marble upright but I couldn't locate the rest of it which was the part bearing the inscription. In order to be sure of getting all the stones in this cemetery it will require either some heavy equipment or several sturdy men to clear the undergrowth. Adjacent to this plot (west) is a cleared area with many, many "sinks" but no markers and it is probably the slave burial ground. A few hundred feet southwest of the cemetery was found a brick foundation to a building which may have been the old Binford home.
