CLARK and SIMPSON-JONES CEMETERIES
LOCATION: Redstone Arsenal. Section 18-5S-1W. SE NE. The Clark Cemetery and the Simpson-Jones Cemetery are only a few yards apart but appear to have been two separate cemeteries when burials were being conducted there. (Restricted Area).
CLARK CEMETERY (4)
NOTE: This large obelisk was covered with ivy and the area around it was covered with vegetation which towered above our heads. For this reason we can not be certain there were not more stones but if there were we could not locate them.
CI-ARK, LUCY- To the Memory of Lucy Clark, born November 29, 1790, died December 25, 1844.
SIMPSON-JONES CEMETERY (5)
JONES, MARY LOU - Daughter of A. G. & Z. M. Proctor, born August 27, 1888, died September 10, 1888.
NOTE: The names of eight members of the Simpson family were on one large beautifully carved monument. There were no dates on the stone and in order to retain the historical significance of the monument I have chosen to list the names as they were written on the stone:
