JORDAN-LANIER CEMETERY (12) LOCATION: Sec. 27-4S-1W. S/2 NW SW. Redstone Arsenal. JORDAN, MARY D. - Sacred to the Memory of Mrs. Mary D. Jordan, Born May 10th, 1803, Dec . 10th Jany. 1830 In the Triumph of the Christian Faith In the 27th year of her age. This weeping husband felt your firmest prop But still Religion gives this pleasing hope That when some years have rolled their cares away Your Soul transported to the Realm of day Shall join your Mary who fell full in sight of Sacred Mansions of eternal light, There Angels in a bright and radient Ring And the Great Son of heavens eternal King, Shall bid her welcome to the azure skies And wipe all tears forever from her eyes. Note: Mary D. Lanier -M- Henry Jordan on November 11, 1821. LANIER, WILLIAM - In Memory of the Rev. Wm. Lanier who departed this life in cheerful hope of a blessful immortality Decr. 26th 1840 In the 76th year of his age. LANIER, ANN - In Memory of Ann Lanier who died in peace Dec. 31st 1841 Aged 72 years. SUMNER, LOUISA A. - Here Sleeps in Christ Louisa A. Sumner, died Feb. 3rd, 1833 in the 27th year of her age. Note: Louisa A. Lanier -M- Thomas J. Sumner May 13-1830. Note: The Sumner and two Lanier headstones were upright; Mary Jordan had a box-type tomb. ALLEN - To mark the resting place of the infant son of J. W. and M. Allen, died October 25, 1836 aged 11 days. Note: This was the son of James W. Allen and Matilda Lanier Allen who were married November 14, 1827. 279 - (501)
