RAWLINS LANIER CEMETERY (13) LOCATION: Section 22-4S-1W - Cener of SE/4. Redstone Arsenal. This cemetery is located in the "Vietnam Village", a restricted area. RAWLINS, ANN - Sacred to the Memory of Mrs. Ann Rawlins Who departed this life in the triumph of Christian faith on the 15th of January, 1823 in the 20th year of her age. My flesh shall slumber in the ground, 'till the last trumpet's joyful sound, Then burst the chains with sweet surprise and in my Saviour's image rise. Note: Ann Lanier -M- Eldred Rawlins August 11, 1821. LANIER, WILLIAM DICKSON- In the Memory of William Dickson Lanier, Born July ... 8.., 1830, Died October .. 2., 183.. Note: The information on the William Dickson Lanier stone was obtained by Mr. Bob Drake in November, 1969. When we visited it in September, 1970, we did not locate it, however, the cemetery was so overgrown that possibly we overlooked it. Note: William D. Lanier -M- Lucy Ann Caldwell February 24, 1829. HAWKINS, MARIA A. - Maria A. Hawkins, nee Jones, Bom July 17, 1818, Died Feb.......... 1888. In full assurance of faith. Note: The day of death had been chipped away and the stone broken but legible except for that. The stone was broken through the year of death but it is fairly certain that it was "1888". Maria A. Jones married Henry L. Ward on June 13, 1839 and, second, married Wiley T. Hawkins on October 7, 1857. We counted five unmarked graves in this tiny cemetery. 280 - (502)
