COLLIER CEMETERY (?) LOCATION: Near Triana, Alabama. COLLIER, JAMES- To the Memory of James Collier who was born in Lunenburg Co., Va., October 13th, A. D., 1757, and died the 20th of August, A. D., 1832. And though after my skin, worms destroy this body - yet in my flesh shall I see God: whom I shall see for myself and my eyes shall behold and not another. COLLIER, ELIZABETH BOULDIN - To the Memory of Elizabeth Bouldin of Charlotte Comity, Va., wife of James Collier, who was born the 13th (15th?) of February, A.D., 1763, and died the 23rd of February, A.D., 1828. All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as a flower of the field, for the wind passeth over it and it is gone and the place thereof shall know it no more. Note: James married Elizabeth Bouldin July 3, 1777 in Lunenburg County, Va. She was the daughter of James Bouldin (eldest son of Col. Thomas Bouldin) and Nancy Clark. They moved to Madison Comity, Alabama, in 1818. NOTE: From various old records it appears certain the above Colliers were buried on their plantation in Madison County. I have been unable to locate anyone who knows the exact location of the cemetery, however, and considerable inquiring in the, now predominately Negro, area has proved unsuccessful. I heard some time ago that the area where the cemetery stood had been bulldozed, but this is not certain. Family members have verified its destruction. 300 - (523)
