Sept. 6, 1853. ) DRISKILL - In Memory of Rev. A. F. Driskill, son of Rev. John & Mary Driskill, Born in N. C. June 16, 1801, Converted 1810, Licensed to preach & Joined the Tenn. Con. 1822, of which he was a member 48 yrs., & in his 5th yr. in the N. Ala. Con. March 17, 1875, died triumphantly. Soldier of Christ well done! W. & Ella Beverly, Born Jan. 16, 1903 - Died Mar. 5, 1903. There were many "sinks" in this cemetery but no other markers. This is the family cemetery of the renowned Rev. C. B. Sanders, better known as "the Sleeping Preacher." This cemetery was "excepted" in a deed from Louisa R. Sanders, William W. Sanders, and Eliza A. Sanders to Ambrose S. Foster on Dec. 26, 1874 (Deed Book YY, Page 401). The deed states that William W. and Eliza A. are husband and wife, and with Louisa reserve a half acre, "... the family grave yard." 36 - (640)
