Graveyard Hill Cemetery Criner Plot Note: The Criner family is one of the most historic in North Alabama. Isaac Criner is believed to have been the first permanent, white settler in Madison County. CRINER - This monument marks the site of the Criner Cemetery. 1907. CRINER - Alfred Criner - Born Feb. 2, 1818 - Died Sept. 22d 1847.
