HEWLETT CEMETERY LOCATION: Section 3-3-1E - E/2 NW NE - four miles east of Highway 231-431 on New Market Pike on the north side of the highway. The cemetery is in a small grove of trees at the edge of the yard of a stately old home. ALLISON - Duanna N. Allison - Born in Henry Co., Va. April 2, 1787 - Died September 23, 1877 ALLISON - Sacred to the Memory of John Allison, Esqr., who died on the 29th of June 1841 aged about 70 years. An honest man and a.............[illegible] TRUITT - A. B. Truitt born in Lauderdale Co. March 7, 1830 - Died July 26, 1903 TRUITT - Dew Ann Williams, Consort of A. B. Truitt. Feb., 1837 - April, 1914. HEWLETT - Lillian Mae Truitt, wife of Lucien King Hewlett - March 26, 1877 - October 11, 1934 TRUITT - B. E. Allison Truitt - Born in Madison County March 17, 1884 - Died January 3, 1887. BENNETT - In Memory of John W. Bennett Grandson of D. N. Alison was born Jan. 1, A. D., 1841, Died June 11, A. D., 1849. TRUITT - Dr. E. Allison Truitt. Born in Madison Co. March 17, 1864 - Died Jan. 31, 1887. Note: The following stone was outside of the wrought iron fence which surrounded the above graves: HEWLETT - L. K. Hewlett died February 8, 1941 [No other info.] TILLER CEMETERY LOCATION: Section 4-3-1E - NE NE SW SE'. On south side of Winchester Pike in field near road and approximately 3/4 mile east of the Moores Mill Road intersection. When I checked this cemetery in about 1970 there was only one tombstone left in it and it had weathered to where no inscription was visible. In talking to a 96 year old Negro man, who had lived all his life in this community, Bobby Drake was told that this is the tombstone of Abraham Tiller. The old man also said that Abraham Tiller's wife plus six or seven others were buried here even though there are no tombstones for them. Census, Oct. 23, 1850 Tiller, Benj. 48 Va., Farmer - $3000.) In a cotton field off Plaza Drive which runs off Moores Mill Road. This tiny cemetery is surrounded by a rock wail about three feet high. Trees and shrubs grow in it and brush cleared from the field has been thrown over that. Copied and contributed by Bobby Drake. LIGHTFOOT - In Memory of John L.
