SUBLETT CEMETERY
LOCATION: Section 32-3-2E - W/2 W/2 W/2 SW/4. This cemetery is located in the Moontown area just a few yards west of the Flint River. The Moons and Andrew Monroe Sublett were the first settlers in this area in the early 1800's. The large log structure built as a home by Andrew Monroe Sublett is still being lived in by one of his descendants, Mr. William Brooks Sublett. The cemetery is about 3/4 mile from the house which is most unusual; family cemeteries were normally located only a few yards from the house.

Note: In talking to family members living in the area I was told that Andrew Monroe Sublett was the son of Phillip Sublett and Isabella Whitley. He had two brothers: Col. Billie Sublett who married a Miss Hereford of Tuscumbia, and Milton Sublett.
