Sublett Cemetery OLMSTED - Lillie Fay, Daughter of C. P. & E. V. Olmsted - Born June 12, 1900 - Died Feb. 21, 1902. OLMSTEAD - Viola Olmstead - Born Oct. 14, 1878 - Died Aug. 27, 1911 JORDAN - Emmett Jordan - 1878 - 1915 JORDAN - Ellett Jordan - 1903 - 1903 --- Benjamin Sublett (a brother of Robert L. "Lee Bob" Sublett) is buried in this cemetery without a marker. He was in the Confederate Army during the Civil War and there should be a CSA iron cross on his grave. VINSON CEMETERY LOCATION: Section 33-3-2E - N/2 NE SE This large cemetery contains many, many graves but I could find only a few markers. In Deed Book I-J, Page 451, on Feb. 7, 1825, David and Martha Walker sold the SE/4 of Section 33-3-2E to William Moore. They "excepted" "the meeting house and one quarter acre around the meeting house and the graveyard thereon." The land sold was bounded by Owens on the north, by Woodson Rountree on the west, by Taylor on the South and by Mahan on the East. I have been unable to find what kind of church was here. Mr. Joe Allen Brewer, a Vinson descendant, took me to this cemetery. The cemetery is in a large copse of trees and covers approximately two acres. DOUGLASS - Bill Douglas - 1872 - 1932 (This was a hand made cement marker) GEE - Permelie Gee - Born June 12, 1840 - Died Aug. 3, 1894. (tiny marble marker) GRAYSON - Amanda Grayson, Faithful Member of Beacon Light Circle No. 1075. Died Sept. 18, 1918. (Note: This lady may be Negro. It is believed Negores used the cemetery in later years) VINSON - Caldonia Vinson, Born Dec. 25, 1810 - Died Apr. 1, 1901. (Marble upright stone) ROBNETT - Millie A. Robnett - Born June 13, 1830 - Died Jan. 18, 1910 (Marble stone) ANDERSON - J. R. Anderson - Born Feb. 19, 1870 - Died Nov. 23, 1890 [We dug this marble stone out of the ground and left it leanded next to a tree.] ANDERSON - W. T . A. [Note: This was a footstone and was next to the grave of J. R. Anderson. We were able to locate the base and bottom half of what we believed was the matching headstone. Only part of the death date was left: "(Died) March 16, 18...." We could not locate the rest of the stone.] This cemetery is literally covered with graves either unmarked or marked with unlettered fieldstones. The following two inscriptions were crudely carved on fieldstones. CRSTE DIED OCT 18 1900 BLAIR CEMETERY LOCATION: Section 34-3S-2E - N/2 N/2 SW/4. This single stone is surrounded by a wrought iron fence and is located under a huge old wild cherry tree. BLAIR - Dr. John S. Blair - Born Dec. 16, 1802 - Died Aug. 25, 1880 278 - (882)
