OLD MAYSVILLE CEMETERY (Morrow-Stewart Cemetery) LOCATION: Section 17-3-2E - approximately in the S/2 S/2 of section. This cemetery is located in a grove of trees on a hill due east of the Flint River Primitive Baptist Church on the Flint River. FORSEY - Sacred to the Memory of Sarah Eliza Forsey who Departed this life January 20th, 1840 aged 17 mo. & 11 days. FORSEY - E......Forsey who Departed this life November 18th 181.. aged 31 years...and.... [Note: The footstone said "E. F." The headstone was of sandstone and had failed to the ground and was crumbled beyond reading.] FORSEY - Sacred to the memory of Richard Forsey who departed this life Nov. 7, 1855 aged ) 60 years & 1 mo. ) ) Dbl. FORSEY - Sacred to the memory of Eliza Forsey who departed this life Nov. 18, 1840 aged ) 31 years, 2 mo. & 10 days. The redeemed of the Lord. Isa. 62:12 ) Note: The 1830 census shows Richard and Eliza as having 38 slaves. Census, Nov. 18, 1850 Forsey, Richard 54 England - $8000. ) Richard Forsey -m- Susan E. Shotwell Susan 28 Ala. ) Dec. 15, 1842 (MB-4) CHAMBLESS - Martha Chambless was borne the 23d Jan. 1818 and departed this life the 11th of May, 1839 aged 21 years, 3 mo., and 16 days. Note: Martha Stewart -m- Joel H. Chambless Aug. 4, 1835 (MB-4) ---- Note: There was a small plot of four graves enclosed by a lovely old wrought iron fence that did not have a gate. There were no tombstones. ALBRIGHT - Franklin N. Albright - Born Oct. 5, 1878 - Died May 11, 1907. Here shrined with many a sweet & sad thought that loved ones memory lingers still. White - Born Jan... 1830, died March ..., 1867. [Note: Illegible stone. I can find no record of her in the marriage records or census of 1850.
