Wortham - Born Dec. 28, 1827 - Died July 26, 1883 Note: Madison County death records show one Larkin Wortham who died June 27, 1883 of T.B., aged 57 yrs., born in Tennessee, a bookeeper. May not be same. WORTHAM - Margaret B. Wortham, wife of L. A. Wortham - Born Aug. 10, 1839 - Died Nov. 11, 1872 aged 33 years, 3 mo's & 1 day. Safe with Jesus. WORTHAM - H. C. Wortham was born Jan. 23, 1842 and died July 24, 1862. [Note: This stone had fallen to the ground and was crumbling when checked by John E. Morrow 12-14-1868 (MB-5) Note: I was unable to locate the following two graves, however, Mrs. Richard Gilliam had copied them much earlier and has supplied me with the following information: HAMBLE - Martha Hamble - Born 1818 - Died 1839 aged 21 years, 10 mo., 16 days. MOSS - Mahala Moss[?] - Sept. 21, 1823 - August ..., 1846 [Parts of this stone illegible] Note: The following obituary was contributed by Mrs. Pauline Gandrud. This may not be the cemetery in which Mr. Hambrick was buried. This is obviously not the same Alfred Hambrick buried in the Hambrick Cemetery [see Page 180]. The Madison County death records state that the Alfred Hambrick buried in the Hambrick Cemetery died of "local injury. " This Alfred Hambrick does not appear in the death records. From: The Huntsville Mercury, August 24, 1891. "We learned last evening of the death yesterday of Mr. Alfred Hambrick at his home near Maysville. Mr. Hambrick was 78 years of age and had been ill of slow fever for some time. He was buried in the burying ground of that place today. " 310 - (914)
