I had the privilege of attending this year’s (2004) Rison/Dallas Reunion. I never went to Rison or lived in the village but both of my parents grew up there. My parents are Thomas "Bud" and Ethel (McElroy) Adcock. My dad graduated in 1948 and my mom graduated in 1950. They married the day after she graduated.

This story has been told to me by many of my relatives. When my mom's family moved to the village, my dad was going to Huntsville High and one day, for some reason, he went over to Rison. When he saw my mom, he went home and told his parents that he had seen the girl that he was going to marry. He then transferred over to Rison and the rest is history.

My father passed away in 1987 and I still miss him to this day. He was such a good man and loved my mother and children more than life.

I look forward to attending the reunion next year!! I had a wonderful time and it was an honor to see my dad's pictures on the memory board.
