"The new bridge is expanded on the west side and will tie with future channel modifications to provide better flood conveyance as part of a major downtown flood mitigation project," Dr. Ferrill also referenced other planned improvements including: expansion of the Pinhook Creek channel, a pedestrian bridge, a top-of-bank promenade and a greenway to link our downtown amenities, such as Big Spring Park, the Von Braun Center, existing and future hotels and shopping venues. - City of Huntsville
