PEOPLE IN MERRIMACK CEMETERY ACKLIN, JETTIE FAY, DEC. 1936 - 3 MAY 1937. NO STONE ACKLIN, THOMAS, JR. DIED DEC. 13, 1934. MO STONE These were children of Thomas and Nellie (Johnson) Acklin who lived at 257 A. St. at the time of Thomas, Jr.'s death. When Jettie Fay died they lived on Athens Highway but Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Johnson, grandparents lived at 257 A. St, Merrimack. The burial was May 4, 1937. Thomas and Nellie married Nov. 20, 1934, in Madison Co., Alabama. Thomas was born about 1912, in Alabama. Nellie was born about 1916, in Georgia. Nellie's parents were Ernest and Pearl (Johnson) Johnson. Pearl Johnson died Dec. 20, 1934, and is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Sources: Madison Co., Alabama, Marriage records, Vol. 62, p. 68. John died in August of 1929, in Madison Co., Alabama. John was born in Alabama about 1862. Daisy was born about 1885, in Mississippi. In 1920, Minnie and twin sister Andie were the only children in the home with their parents. The twins were born 1903, in Mi ssi ssi ppi. Sources: Death Index. (ROW 6) ONE STONE FOR BOTH CHILDREN Sam Adkins married Liddie (Lydia) Camp Dec. 22, 1923, Madison Co., Alabama. Sam's mother was Rose Adkins of Jackson Co., Alabama. Liddie was from Sparta, Coffee Co. Tennessee. Her parents were James Wiley Camp and Becky Tennessee "Tennie." Nash. She was born Oct. 13, 1908. Sam and Liddie Ann had nine children. Robert L., the first child was born when she was sixteen and Sam was twenty-two. The others were Bertha Pauline, Helen Louise, Hazel Ruth, Pearl Jean, Leida Gertrude, David Lee, Joyce and Hattie. David died of Leukemia. Cause of Gertrude's death was unknown. Sam planted a Dogwood tree near the graves of their babies and in 1996, it still enhances the beauty of the cemetery. Liddie had tuberculosis in the 1940s, and spent some time in the Tuberculosis sanitarium, but was alive in 1996. In January of 1950, Liddie married William Lanier, son of William E. and Mary (Wiley) Lanier who was born July 17, 1880.
