O'Neill was a daughter of Rebecca (Stroud) and John O'Neill of Bedford Co., Tennessee. She and Samuel had the following children: John M. (born 1869, died 1918), William (born 1873), Ann P., born Feb. 1874, died Oct. 15, 1936, married William. E. Sweeton born Sept. 5, 1882, died Nov. 16, 1936, Rebecca, born Feb. 1874, died 1978, married John Jacob Houser Laager, born 1882, died 1950, James Walter "Puss", born Dec. 27, 1878, died 1975, married Josie Knight, 1901. After Josie died he married Myrtle Ann Davis Aug. 22, 1909, Newton "Shorty" born Apr. 1882, died 1940, in Tracy City, Grundy Co., Tennessee, Sarah "Hattie", born Oct. 1883, George Vernon, born Aug. 24, 1883, died Jan. 13, 1950, in Columbia, South Carolina, married Bessie Hill, Dec. 21, 1904, she born 11 Apr. 1884-died 28 Nov. 1961, and Nancy Jane, born Mar. 1888. (ROW 14) Mrytle Ann Davis, daughter of John F. and Julia Ann Pettway (Cornelison) Davis was born Feb. 14, 1890, in Grundy Co., Tennessee. She married James Walter Cantrell Aug. 22, 1909, in Grundy Co., Tennessee. She died July 18, 1932, of blood poisoning. Her children were Harlon, born Sept. 9, 1909, Raymond Earl, died as infant, Mary Etheleen, born Apr. 1, 1914, Ned Denver "Buster", born Dec. 9, 1918, Mike Edward, born Mar. 31, 1921, James Sammie, born Nov. 4, 1924. James Walter Cantrell, Myrtle's husband, was born Dec. 27, 1878, died Sept. 1, 1975. He is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, Alabama. Source: Cindy Cantrell Mears (Mrs. Leroy). CARDEN, FREDDIE MAE, APR. 15 1934 - MAR. 15, 1937. (ROW 33) CARDEN INFANT, SON, BORN AND DIED MAY 8, 1928. (ROW 33) CARDEN INFANT, DAUGHTER, BORN AND DIED JAN. 12, 1929. (ROW 33) These were children of Floyd and Margie (Crick) Carden. This couple had one child who lived to adulthood, James Carden, born May, 1930. Margie Crick Carden was born in 1908, and died in 1987. Margie was daughter of Mae Kirk and Lee Jefferson Crick, who married in Madison Co. Alabama, Aug. 12, 1907. Mae, a daughter of W. P. and Martha Kirk, was born March, 1891, and died before 1914. She is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Belle (Green) Crick, mother of Lee Jefferson Crick, died the same day Freddie Mae died, of the same illness, and is buried in Merrimack Cemetery . Floyd Carden was born Nov. 25, 1901, in Trenton, Alabama. He died in Aug., 1986. His parents were James A. and Mary E. Carden.
