Willie was daughter of John W. and Mary Copus. Emma H., Rosa E., and John W. were children of John W. and his second wife Lucy Lenis. On June 14, 1912, Emma, Earl, Rose, Walter Dewey and John Wesley all went to Dallas Mill to work. In 1920, Dewey was working in Dallas Mill and boarding with Palmer Schrimsher. Willie Mae died of pellagra Apr. 18, 1914, and is buried in pauper's field in Maple Hill Cemetery. After Willie's death William Thomas Copous/Copus lived with Lagarus Wilson, and was listed as an orphan. However, his children went by the name of Wilson. William Thomas died in Decatur, Alabama, and is buried in Roselawn Cemetery, as is his brother, Earl Copus. Rosie Copus married Jesse Towery Dec. 6, 1911. CORNUTT, ETTA MAY, MAY 31, 1900 - NOV. 22, 1902 (ROW 4) William Cornutt and Tabitha Sharp married Dec. 24, 1890, in Madison Co., Alabama. Bondsmen were William and James Cornutt. Tabitha was under age 18, so a note of consent was written for her by F. G. Sharp, one of her parents. William and Tabitha were the parents of at least two children before the birth of Etta May in 1900. These two were Clara and James Oscar. James Oscar died June 2, 1971. Siblings listed in his obituary were Mrs. L. L. Campbell, Mrs. Clara Campbell, Mrs. Alene Gentry, Mrs. Mary Bryant. William's parents were James, and Ester Ann (Hill) Cornutt. James Cornutt married Ann Hill on May 6, 1869 in Madison Co., Alabama. James, born in Georgia, was a grocer in Maysville, Madison Co., Alabama, in 1880. COVINGTON, MILDRED OCT. 29, 1915 - MAY 18, 1917. (ROW 24) DAUGHTER OF J. P. AND NORA COVINGTON. This baby was a daughter of Nora East and Joshua Perry Covington. They married Dec. 24, 1910. Nora's parents were John and Ann Eliza (Price) East. Nora was born at Hobbs Island, Madison Co., Alabama, Sept. 8, 1894. and began working in Merrimack in 1908. She married Perry December 24, 1910. Joshua Perry was born about 1888, in Georgia. In 1920, Nora was living with her mother, a widow. Nora had two children, Walter, born about 1914, and Robert, born about 1918.
