and son, Durwood, age 4. Perry Covington was not listed in the home. In 1911-12 City Directory Perry Covington was an inspector in Merrimack Mfg. Company. In 1920 census Joshua Covington was listed as a boarder in the home of Henry East, an uncle of Nora's. NO STONE This was the first baby of William Benjamin and Nannie Harriett (Barnes) Cowley. Both were from Tennessee. They married July 4, 1906, in Madison Co., Alabama. They had two other children, Earline, who married a Mr. Moore, and Ben Brooks Cowley, who married Hazel Hays, daughter of Felix and Josie Hays. Nannie, the mother, died June 12, 1914, so the children were reared by their grandparents, Larkin H. and Hattie Barnes. Nannie and other members of her family are buried in Maple Hill Cemetery. (ROW 3) Burley was a son of Lizzie (Stubblefield) and Will Crews. He died of tuberculosis. Lizzie Stubblefield married William A. Crews, of Jackson Co., Alabama. Their children were Tom, Robert, Burley, Lillie Mae, Lee, Millie, Cora and Minnie. Tom married Sallie Ann Mahaffey, Robert married Grace Guinn. Lillie Mae married Harvel Story. They have a child, W. H. Story, buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Lillie Mae's second marriage was to Frank Singleton. Lee married W. E. Chamblies. She and her daughter Doris are buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Cora married an Ashley. Millie married a Mahaffey. Minnie married a Mahaffey. Lizzie's parents were Betsy Ann and John Stubblefield. They lived in Marshall Co., Alabama in 1880. The children listed were James, born about 1866, Mary, born about 1869, Elizabeth, born about 1873, and Thomas, born about 1874. Betsy Ann was born in Tennessee about 1849, and John was born in Missouri about 1837. All of the children were said to be born in Tennessee. Will Crews was a son of John and Christena Crews of Jackson Co., Alabama. By 1880, their children were William, Robert and James. Will moved to Grenada, Mississippi. He died and is buried there. Lizzie Stubblefield and Will Crews were Robert's parents. 32 - (1338)
