W., AUG. 31, 1929 - DEC. 21, 1929, SON OF C. W. ELROD. (ROW 17) Barbara's father, Jacob Laager, was born in Switzerland in 1882. He died in 1950. Her mother Rebecca Cantrell, was born in Bedford Co., Tennessee in 1874, and died in 1978. Both Jacob and Rebecca are buried in Maple Hill Cemetery. Rebecca was a daughter of Samuel and Mary (O'Neil) Cantrell who are buried in Merrimack Cemetery. The family moved to Huntsville some time after 1911. The little boy was son of Clarence and Barbara (Laager) Elrod. They married July 3, 1926, in Madison Co., Alabama. Clarence and Barbara Elrod had the son, C. W., and two daughters. Barbara is buried beside the baby, C. W. Elrod. Clarence was born May 11, 1908, and died in Nov. 1982. He was son of Charlie W. and Ida (Barley) Elrod who married Nov. 20, 1896, in Madison Co., Alabama. Bernice Fann was the baby's sister. Frances Smith, born Feb. 18, 1912, in Lincoln Co., Tennessee was about eight years old when the family moved to Huntsville (about 1920). Herron Leburn Fann, born Apr. 11, 1904, in Woodbury, Cannon Co., Tennessee, was about six when the Fanns moved to Huntsville (about 1910). Herron and Frances married in Madison Co., Alabama. Houston and Beulah married Oct. 14, 1922, in Madison Co. Alabama. They had five other sons. They were. James, Robert, Buford, Charles, and William. The Clayton family was from Muscadine, Cleburne Co., Alabama. The Ferrels were were from McMinnville, Warren Co., Tennessee.
