FITCH, ELBERT, APR. 26, 1929 - AUG. 11, 1931. (ROW 30) FITCH, ROBERT EARL, BORN AND DIED 1941. NO STONE FITCH, ROBERT T., SEPT. 2, 1870 - JAN. 8, 1928. (ROW 40) FITCH, WALTER D., AUG. 29, 1896 - NOV. 29, 1951. (ROW 39) Robert T. Fitch was born in Madison Co., Alabama. His parents were William J. and Eliza Jane (Mariah Elizabeth Jane) Hambrick Fitch. William was born about 1844, and died 1879. Eliza was born in 1851. They married August 31, 1865. They had three sons, James W., Francis M. and Robert. After William's death, Eliza married Eli Sharp on January 11, 1881, in Madison Co.. By 1900, she was a widow again and had three children by Mr. Sharp. They were Lucy, Soulla, and Quinton Sharp. Robert Fitch married three times. His first wife was M. A. Hale, whose nickname was Muggs. They married September 25, 1895, in Madison Co. , Alabama. Walter Fitch was their son, born August 29, 1896, in New Market, Madison Co.. His second wife was Nannie Hambrick whom he married in February 1907, in Madison Co. Alabama. They had one son. On April 3, 1914, Robert married Mattie Taylor, daughter of Marian and Fannie Taylor of Coffee Co., Tennessee. Their children were Elbert and Alberta, twins born in 1916, and Ernest Fitch who presently (1995) lives in Fayetteville, Lincoln Co., Tennessee. Elbert Fitch died August 11, 1931. Walter, son of Robert and M. A. Hale, married Florence Hunt Feb. 9, 1924, in Lincoln Co., Tennessee. Florence was a daughter of James Nathaniel Hunt and Maggie A. Smith. This was the second marriage for Maggie. Her first husband was a Mr. Littrell. This couple lived in Lincoln Co. for a short time, finally settling in Merrimack in 1932. Walter and Florence had seven children. They were Virgie Louise, Alene Helen, William Edward, Clarence Eugene, Eva Estelle, Sylvia Annette, and Robert Earl. Robert Earl, son of Walter and Florence, was born about 1941, and did not live long. He is buried in Merrimack Cemetery but has no stone. Source: Clarence Eugene Fitch. NO STONE John Flippo married Beulah Burgess Jan. 24, 1920, in Madison Co., Alabama. John Henry Flippo was born September 1888, in Jackson Co., Alabama. Two of John Henry's sisters were Minnie M. and Perley M. Flippo. One of his sisters married Henry L. Nash, of Jackson Co., Alabama. His parents were Francis M. and Martha J. Flippo. Francis, born March, 1847, died before 1920. Martha J. died after 1920. Beulah was born about 1894. Her father was Albert H. Burgess, of Marshall Co., Alabama. His wife died before 1920. The children of John and Beulah were Mary, Grace, Thelma, and Albert. Mary married James Anderson Sept. 29, 1939, Grace married James E. Jordan.
