Majors is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Gary was the first child of Alonzo and Dona. Other children of this couple were Shirley Eleanora, born June 24, 1936, Mavis Jeanette, Willie Andrew, Ernest Howard, Gerald Alonzo, Donald Ray, and James Kenneth Holland. Sources: Kathy Brannon. NO STONE Rosie Kennemer married Dollie Hood Aug. 9, 1907, in Madison Co., Alabama. She was a daughter of David Kennemer and Nancy Jane Tackett of Kennemer Cove, Jackson Co., Alabama. She died in the flu epidemic in 1918. Dollie was from Columbia, Maury Co., Tennessee. He was reared by an aunt because his parents died when he was very young. Dollie Hood died Dec. 1948. Rosie and Dollie's children were Gladys, Laura, Odis, Luther, Lorene, and Herbert. Luther and Odis died as infants. After Rosie's death Dollie married Alice Payne, daughter of James Payne, about 1920, in Madison Co., Alabama. Hood Street off of Drake Ave, near Triana Pike was named in honor of Dollie Hood who worked for Merrimack Manufacturing Co for more than twenty-five years. Sources: Lorene Hood Rice (Mrs. George). By 1920 Robert and Annie were parents of five children, four lived. They were Willis, born 1909, Lada, daughter, born 1911, Vera, born 1914, and Albert, born late in 1919, or early 1920. Robert was son of Sarah Eliza Hudgins who was born Mar. 1851, in Alabama. She married about 1880, and had six children in the home in 1900. Some of the children were born in Franklin Co., Tennessee. Mrs. Hudgins was running a boarding house in 1900. Annie Stewart was born in Alabama in 1889. John Hughes was son of Laura Nelson and Cameron Hughes of Jackson Co., Alabama. He was born about 1903, and died Jan. 26, 1988. Estelle (Nicholson) Hughes was daughter of William "Bill" and Octavia Nicholson of Trinity, Jackson Co., Alabama. Estelle was born Feb. 14, 1911, and married Jan, 14, 1926, one month before her 15th birthday. Lydia Odean was born on the first anniversary of the marriage.
