HYMER, IDA, NOV. 11, 1885 - NOV. 5, 1944. (ROW 6) Ida Mefford Patterson Hymer was killed in an accident near the Merrimack Mfg. Co. when she was struck down by an empty cotton trailer that had broken away from a truck. She had two daughters, Pauline Patterson who married Mr. Williams, and Charline Patterson who married Jim Earls, and two sons, John H. Hymer and Leslie G. Hymer. Ida's first husband was Will Patterson. Mr. Hymer was her second husband. She was also survived by four sisters, Ruby Kimbrough, Lucy Mefford, Mrs. Tommy Preston, and Claudia Tate, and three brothers, Jake Mefford, Hugh Mefford, and Bill Mefford. Annie, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Dodson, was born in Mississippi, as were her her sisters Demia and Elzenia Dodson. The parents were born in Tennessee. Edward was born in Lincoln Co., Tennessee. He was a son of Callie Ivey. Juanita was born about 1929. She died in Nashville, Tennessee. Other children on Edward and Annie were Richard, born about 1916, James, Fred and Zula Ivey. Joseph and Mary Dodson, grandparents of Juanita, lived at Douglas Hill, Huntsville, at the time of her death. (ROW 23) This was Katie, the first child of William and Lenora Grace (Mcminn) Lanier. She married William Jackson on Feb. 4, 1922, in Madison Co., Alabama. They were the parents of three children: Nina, Thelma and Grady Jackson. She died of a heart attack. James William was a son of Wilson G., and Laura G. Jackson of Laceys Spring, Morgan Co., Alabama. Lenora Grace Lanier died in 1948, and is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Katie's brother Alton Lanier died in 1928, and is buried in Merrimack. Please see entry for Lanier family.
