KELLY, CHARLES W., OCT. 1868 - AUG. 25, 1936. (ROW 18) Charles Kelly married Emma Moon, Nov. 13. 1885, in Madison Co., Alabama. In 1900, the family lived in Owens Cross Roads, Madison Co.. In 1910, they were living in Merrimack and the parents of ten children. One child had died. The children were Addie, Willie P., Clarence G., Tricia, Beatrice, Sam, Julia Rosa, Nannie L., Mabie C., Rushie M., Dora. Rosa married Captain Majors, son of Elmus Majors, and is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Sources: Kathy Brannon. Marriage record, Vol. 14, p. 189. KELLY, INFANT SON OF MR. AND MRS. FLOYD KELLY, OCT. 28, 1929. NO STONE Floyd Kelly, father of this child was son of Charles and Emma (Moon) Kelly. The baby's mother was Leona Cardin. Floyd and Leona married May 13, 1927, in Madison Co., Alabama. This was the only child of Floyd and Leona. Both parents of this baby are buried in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Sources: Kathy Brannon. (ROW 9) Mattie was a daughter of Amanda Bell Morgan and Columbus Russell, of Bradley Co., Tennessee. She died of tuberculosis and flu. She had traveled out of town to help a sick sister and returned home and died. People were dying so quickly during this period of the flu epidemic that groups of bodies were carried all at once to the cemetery and were buried after dark. Mattie was a religious person and was singing praises to her God as she died. Mattie and Henry had two sons, Starling and Robert. Her mother Amanda Russell is also buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Mattie and Henry Knight married in Madison Co., Alabama Apr. 4, 1911. This was the second marriage for Mattie. She first married a Mr. Davis and had one daughter, Mary, but divorced Mr. Davis. Henry Knight was from Tracy City, Grundy Co., Tennessee. where he had been a coal miner. He was born in 1891, died in 1976, and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery. Adrian and Arlen Knight were his brothers, and he had a half-brother Edward. After Mattie's death he married Laura Parrish from Nixon, Tennessee and had children. Laura had previously married a Mr. White and had a daughter, Lucile White. Laura reared Starling and Robert Knight. Robert Knight died in 1997. Sources: Nellie Russell McAnelly (Mrs. Clarence).
