LANIER, ALTON L., MAR. 24, 1907 - MAY 13, 1928. (ROW 23) LANIER, LENORA GRACE, 1882 - 1948. (ROW 23) Alton L. was son of Grace and William Lanier. He died of pneumonia. Grace was the wife of William Jackson Lanier, whom she married July 26, 1900, in Madison Co., Alabama. Her parents were George Washington and Sarah Jane (Stewart) McMinn who married Feb. 3, 1876, in Madison Co. They lived at Sugar Fork in Madison Co., where Grace was born Jan. 16, 1882. The McMinns had come from near Corinth, Mississippi. Other McMinn children were Nannie Bell, Mattie Lou, William Thomas, Johnie and Henry Grady. Grace had a stroke about a month before her death. She died from a heart attack. William, son of William E. Lanier and Mary (Wiley) Lanier was born in July 1883, in Madison Co., Alabama. William married Liddie Ann Adkins after Grace's death. He died Apr. 28, 1976. The children of Grace and William were Katie, married William Jackson, Thelma, married Robert Rosenblum, Albert and Alton, Virgil H. , Mildred, married R. M. Gibson, Mae, married Marshall Cowart. Katie Lanier Jackson died in 1938. Thelma and Robert Rosenblum's daughter Evelyn died in 1925. Both are buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Liddie Ann Adkins was first married to Sam Adkins. Gertrude and David Adkins, buried in Merrimack Cemetery are her children. Sources: Glyn Rosenblum. Thelma Walker Westmore. Lanier and Nannie Lou Brooks who married Sept. 9, 1921, in Madison Co., Alabama. John was born 1900, Nannie born 1903. ND PROOF. Source: Marriage record Vol. 47, p. 179. LASATER, MARY ELIZABETH, BORN AND DIED DEC. 17, 1926. (ROW 40) The parents of this baby were Charles Edward and Jessie May (Mooneyham) Lasater. They married in Madison Co. March 13, 1926. The death of the baby was probably caused by premature birth. Jessie's parents were Mary Ann Galloway and Thomas Jefferson, (called Jay) Mooneyham, of Van Buren Co., Tennessee. Charles was son of William Wesley and Rose Lee (Pamplin) Lasater of Lincoln Co., Tennessee. Both Charles and Jessie are buried in State Line Cemetery, Madison Co., Alabama. Charles died November 1971. They had other children: Pauline, May, Marshall and Robert E. Lasater. Sources: Mr. & Mrs. Robert Lasater. Marriage record, Vol. 51, p. 468. LASATER, INFANT, OF YOUNGER AND GLADYS LASATER. NO STONE. This was baby of Younger and Gladys Lasater. It is believed the baby is buried beside Mary Elesabeth Lasater.
