(ROW 18) Mary Rickets married William Mahaffey about 1882. She was about 17 years old. She was born in Alabama. Will was born in Tennessee. In 1900, the family lived in Maysville, Madison Co., Alabama, where he was a miller. In 1920, he worked in the saw mill at Merrimack Mfg. Co. (ROW 3) Rosa Anne Kelly, daughter of Charles and Emma (Moon) Kelly, married Captain Majors on Dec. 4, 1915, in Madison Co., Alabama. Rosa was born near Owens Cross Roads, Madison Co. Her parents were born in Alabama. Captain, a son of Elmus and Laura (Tucker) Majors, was born 1896/97, in Franklin Co., Tennessee. Cap and Rosa had four children, Dona Mazie Anne Marie, b. April 1917, twins Era and Vera, and Elmus Walker "Buck, b. 1923, who died 1974, buried Memory Gardens. Cap left the family when Buck was small and Rosa reared the children in Merrimack Village. She died of colon cancer Feb. 4, 1937. Her father, Charles Kelly is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Her daughter Dona married Alonzo Holland and has a son buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Her sister Lilly married Charles Weaver and has a son Burby buried in Merrimack. Her brother Floyd Kelly has a child buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Sources: Kathy Brannon. NO STONE Essie Mae was a daughter of William Richardson Marks and Laura Bell (Wheeler) Marks who married Apr. 3, 1904, in Madison Co., Alabama. William was son of James Richardson and Lucy Jane (Keel) Marks. He was born Jan. 19, 1882, in Madison Co., Alabama and died Feb. 7, 1960, in New Hope. Lucy Jane was born Apr. 10, 1855, in Gurley, Madison Co., Alabama. James R. was born Mar. 1, 1854, in Shelby Co., Alabama. His mother Nancy was born in Georgia. Lucy Jane and James R. Marks were married Nov. 10, 1880, in Madison Co., Alabama. They were parents of eight children. 65 - (1371)
