NO STONE This baby of William and Maybell Maynard was three months old at the time of her death. William and Maybell (Hughes) Maynard married in Madison County, Alabama on Oct. 23, 1935. At the time of marriage, Maybell was age 18, born in Alabama. William was 21 years old at the time of his marriage. He was a son of William Henry and Susie (Linguild) Maynard of Marshall Co., Alabama. Maybell was living in the home of Laura Hughes in 1920. She was listed as a daughter of Grace Hughes Dollar in Mrs. Lum Dollar's obituary. Other children of William and Maybell were Stanley Ray, Guy, and Bill Maynard. Sources: Roy Maynard. (1997) MCANELLY, BETTY JOAN, BORN AND DIED JULY 4, 1939. NO STONE This is the second child of Clarence and Nellie (Russell) McAnelly. She was born prematurely and lived only ninety minutes. She was a Blue baby. Nellie was very ill and did not see Betty or know about her death until after the burial. Their first daughter was Mary Elizabeth McAnelly born 1931, and died in 1983. She married Fred Turner. Clarence was a son of Albert and Mattie (Vann) McAnelly. Mattie Vann was from New Hope and is buried near Vann Town, Lincoln Co., Tennessee. Albert and Mattie were parents of seven children, Gordon, Clarence, Floyd, Roy and Raymond, Charles and Nannie B. McAnelly. Nellie Russell was a daughter of John Russell and Mattie Byser Russell. Mattie Byser was daughter of Mary Elizabeth Lecroy of Georgia. Her father, Mr. Byser, died three months before Mattie's birth. Mary Elizabeth married first to a Mr. Dunn and had a son, William Dunn. After Mr. Dunn died, she married a Mr. Ray and they had a son, Tom. Her third husband was Mr. Byser and they were the parents of Mattie. About 1894 Mary Elizabeth married Henry Whitely. On Jan. 9, 1925, Mary Elizabeth Whitely died. She is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. John was a son of Amanda Bell (Morgan) Russell and Columbus Russell of Cleveland, Bradley Co., Tennessee. Amanda brought her children to Merrimack about 1909. She died in 1918, and is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Source: Nellie Russell McAnelly. Ann G.
