(ROW 41) MELTON, SALLIE B., SEPT. 13, 1876 - MAR. 23, 1953. (ROW 41) Bessie was the unmarried daughter of Okley and Sallie (Bailey) Melton. She had been ill for a short time before her death. Bobbie Lee Melton was a daughter of John and Elizabeth Melton. John, Jr. rode his bike to the front gates of the mill to wait for his mother to come out from work. He was twelve years old and in the 6th grade in Bradley School. He accidentally rode in front of a moving car and was killed. His parents married Oct. 14, 1922 in Madison Cd. Alabama. His mother was Louise (Campbell) Melton, daughter of Ira and Maggie Lena (Stewart) Campbell. His father was John Melton, son of Sallie (Bailey) and Okley Melton, of Mulberry, Lincoln Co., Tennessee. His brothers were Charles E. Melton and James Wilson Melton, his sister was Gladys Fay Melton. □dis, Sr., son of Okley and Sallie (Bailey) Melton was father of this Odis, Jr. Odis, Sr. moved to Anderson, South Carolina, where he died and is buried. Okley and Sallie (Bailey) Melton were both from Mulberry, Lincoln Co., Tennessee. At Okley's death he was survived by his wife, Sallie, and three daughters, Letar (married C. W. Drawhorn), Callie (married Joe Collett), and Bessie, (died 1950), and five sons, John Wiley, Thomas, George, James and Odis. Sources: Floy Stokasa. James Collett. (ROW 30) This baby has two tombstones. The first says "VIOLO C. MOONEYHAN, MAR. 3, 1930, JUNE 23, 1931, Sweetly sleeping". The stone is thin and stood upright but lays on its base. The newer one says "VIOLA CHRISTEEN MOONEYHAM, ASLEEP IN JESUS, MAR. 3, 1930, JUNE 23, 1931." Flowers and a lamb carved on marble stone which lays flat on the ground. Her parents were Herbert and Annie R. Mooneyham who are the only survivors listed in the obituary. Source: Obituary, June 23, 1931, p. 8. MOOR, EVELYN, DEC. 14, 1924 - MAR. 9, 1926. (ROW 39) Edward F. Moore married Roberta Stevenson on Sept. 1, 1923, in Madison Co., Alabama. Compiler has no proof that these people are related to Evelyn Moor in the cemetery. MOORE, WILLIE SMITHEY, MAR. 8, 1888 - AUG. 14, 1917. WIFE OF COSTON MOORE. (ROW 37) Willie Smithey married Coston Moore in Madison Co., Alabama, on June 7, 1914.
