NEAL, WILLIAM "BILL”, JAN. 7, 1389 - AUG. 13, 1938. (ROW 1) Bill Neal was born in Coffee Co., Tennessee. His mother was Laura (Cunningham) Neal. His father died between 1895, and 1900. For a time Laura and her children, Bill, Lillie Mae, born 1891, and Jessie, born 1895, lived with her parents, Thomas and Mary Cunningham in Wartrace, Bedford Co., Tennessee. Later Laura married Martin Williams who also had three children: Myrtle, Alma, and Alva. Before 1910, Laura and Martin Williams moved to Merrimack where several of the children worked in the Merrimack Mfg. Co. Bill married Mae Bowling and had one son, Harold. Harold died Jan. 19, 1957, and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery. Lillie married Lee Cantrell. Jessie married O. S. Giles. Sources: Lorene Giles Pendergraft. (ROW 9) Alvin was the son of John M. and Hattie (Powell) Neill. John was a loom fixer and Hattie was a weaver in Merrimack Mfg. Co. John was born Jan. 15, 1870. Hattie, daughter of Andrew J. and Lucinda Powell, was born Feb. 12, 1875. Both Hattie and John were from Tennessee. They were the parents of six sons who lived to adulthood. They were Herman A., James, Walter, Maybern, Henry and Ernest Neill. Source: Obituary, The Huntsville Times, Jan. 19, 1937. NEILL, ESTHER RUTH "TOOTSIE", NOV. 11, 1923 - JAN. 3, 1940. (ROW 42) Esther Ruth Neill was a daughter of Herman and Bertie Mae (Pearson) Neill. She was a student at Joe Bradley School when she died at the age of sixteen of pneumonia. Other children of Herman and Bertie Mae were Buford, Herbert, Billy, Virginia, Lorene, Lola, Jessie and Hattie. Herman, born in Robertson Co. Tennessee, was son of John M. and Hattie (Powell) Neill. (ROW 36) NEILL, JOHN M., JAN. 15, 1870 - JAN. 18, 1937, HUSBAND. OF HATTIE E. NEILL. (ROW 36) Hattie E. Powell and John Martin Neill married in Tennessee about 1892, and had at least seven children. They were Herman A., John Ernest, Henry F., all born in Robertson Co. or Davidson Co., Tennessee. and James M. and George W., Maybern and Alvin W. born in Alabama. Hattie was a daughter of Andrew J. and Lucinda Powell who lived in Davidson Co., Tennessee in 1900. At the time of John Neill's death he was survived by three brothers: W. H., G.
