Source: James Earls. NEWBY, (BUSH), ETHEL 1916 - 1947. (Row 11) Ethel was daughter of Charley and Lulu (Weaver) Newby. At the time of her death she was survived by her sisters, Mrs. Willie Cantrell, Mrs. Ludell Lankford, Mrs. Edgar Bush and Mrs. Huston Meeks, and one brother, George. Her tombstone gives the name Ethel Newby though her obituary gives her name as Ethel Newby Bush. She died January 17, 1947. Source: Obituary, The Huntsville Times, Jan. 17, 1947. NEWBY, HENRY, 1S81 - 1929. (ROW 21) This is Henry Elbert Newby. He was a son of Henry W. and Ameilia (Crutcher) Newby of Madison Cross Roads, Madison Co., Alabama. Henry W. and Amelia were parents of Thomas A., James Rubin, William Dave, Elizabeth who married a Carter of Toney, Alabama, Anna, A.Z., and Minnie Newby. Henry Elbert Newby married Dora Anderson who was born in 1879, in Illinois. Her father was a native of Sweden. The children of Henry and Dora were Agnes B., Ida Odessa, Gladys Gertrude, John Henry, Charles, Edith and Ernest Newby. Source: James Newby. NEWBY, LULA WEAVER, APR. 10, 1886 - FEB. 19, 1938. (ROW 2) Lula Weaver Newby was wife of Charles Newby and mother of George, Ethel who married Carl Bush, a daughter who married Hobson Lanier, Daisy, who married Houston Meeks, Loucalla Newby, and Frances Newby. Source: Obituary, The Huntsville Times, Feb. 20, 1938. NEWBY, THOMAS B., APR. 12, 1865 - APR. 8, 1928. (ROW 35) Thomas B. Newby was husband of Cinderella (Sanders) Newby. Thomas B. Richard Newby and Walt Newby were brothers. Cinderella was a daughter of Walt Sanders. They married Dec. 13, 1886. in Warren Co., Tennessee. Both were from McMinnville, Warren Co., Tennessee. Their children were Ed, Dora, Walter, Houston, Claude H. and Mamie Claude H. Newby died in 1943, and is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Dora married Alex Earls and is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. (ROW 8) Compiler believes this may be a child of Robert H. and Minnie L. Odom. Both were born in Tennessee. Their older children were born in Auburn, Cannon Co., Tennessee. Robert was a jewelry salesman and was the Census Enumerator for the district (E. D. 145) including Merrimack Village in 1910. The children listed in 1910 are Flora, Ruth F., Amanda N., Jodie B. and James C.. James was born about Nov. 1909. Jodie is 4 1/2 years older than James. Minnie had given birth to 8 children, 5 had lived. 75 - (1381)
