POWELL, WALTER N., 1878 - 1943. (ROW 2)
Walter was a son of Anderw J. and Lucinda Powell of Davidson Co., Tennessee. Other children in the home in 1900, were William and Aletha. William married Eliza and had children, James and Clara L. Aletha married William Poole.
Walter Powell married Hattie Wilkes, daughter of John William and Margaret (Smith) Wilkes, in Tennessee, about 1898.
John William Wilkes was a blacksmith from Boston, Tennessee and worked for many of the textile mills in Huntsville.

The parents of these children were Lonnie and Elma (Pogue) Preston. Elma was daughter of William and Savilla Pogue of Molino, Lincoln Co. Tennessee. Elma died Oct. 26, 1951.
Lonnie, son of Susan Preston Locke died Oct. 8, 1980. Both are are buried in Maple Hill Cemetery. They had one child who lived to adulthood, Addie Susan "Susie" who married W. E. Patterson on Apr. 11, 1936, in Madison Co., Alabama, when she was
23 years old.

Charlie and Maud were children of William J. and Nannie E. Preston, who married about 1890, near Fayetteville, Lincoln Co., Tennessee. Their first children were Alva I., born about 1895, George M., born about 1898, who were born in Tennessee. William A., born about 1903, Charles L., born in 1906, and Maudie were born in Alabama.
William Jesse Preston was a son of Isaac N. Preston and his wife Mary Lou.

Isaac N. Preston was born in Tennessee. He and his family were in Madison Co., Alabama in 1900. His wife Mary was born in Feb. 1846, in Tennessee. Children in the home in 1900, were James, John P., Elma and Ada Preston. Their son, William J. Preston had married about 1890.
In 1920, Mary Lou was in the home with her daughter Elma
