Romine. They married in Sept. 1928, in Madison Co., Alabama. Their first son, Ernest, was born in 1932, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Richard was born in the home in Merrimack with a doctor in attendance. Ernest had whooping cough at the time of the baby's birth, but neither the parents nor the doctor realized it. The baby caught the disease and choked to death. Marie Splawn, born April 7, 1910, was a daughter of Richard and Flossie (Cross) Splawn of Selma, Alabama. George Romine was born near Rogersville, Alabama and died in Merrimack. His burial was in Columbia, Tennessee. Marie Romine and Delus Shelton married in Huntsville in 1964. Delus Shelton died in April, 1998. Thelma (Splawn) Burks, 1907 - 1942 was sister of Marie (Splawn) Romine Shelton. She is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Sources: Marie Splawn Shelton (Mrs. Delus). Marriage record, Vol. 54, p. 125. ROSENBLUM, EVELYN J., JAN. 8, 1921 - APR. 30, 1925, DAUGHTER OF MR. AND MRS. R. A. ROSENBLUM. (ROW 28) This was the first child of Robert Augusta and Thelma (Lanier) Rosenblum. Robert was born Feb. 26, 1894. He died in April 1982. His father was Jacob who was born in Hungary about 1862. At the age of nine Jacob stowed away on a boat to America. He was naturalized in 1900. He moved his family to Huntsville after growing up in Tennessee. His wife, Sallie, was born about 1867, in Tennessee. Jacob ran a business near the Huntsville Depot. In 1911, he owned a grocery store on Meridian St., Yancey and Co., with Henry Yancey. Thelma's parents were William and Lenora Grace (McMinn) Lanier. Grace Lanier and one of her sons, Alton Lanier are buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Thelma was born about 1906, in Madison Co., Alabama. She died Apr. 21, 1996, and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery. Thelma and Robert Rosenblum were parents of five other children, Glyn, Carl, Fred, Bobby and Wanda. Sources: Glyn Rosenblum. (ROW 8) Manda Morgan married Columbus Russell December 5, 1884, in Bradley Co., Tennessee. By Oct. 6, 1909, she was a widow in Huntsville, Alabama with her children working in Merrimack Mfg. Co. She was the mother of six children. They were John, a widower by the age of 21, Simon Lafayette, called Fate, Jessie, and Lola were in the home in 1910. A daughter, Laura Russell married George Bertus. Between Oct. 6, 1909, and Feb. 1910, Manda married W. A. Gannon, also of Tennessee. Amanda Bell Russell is the name on the tombstone.
