A., Lucretia A., and Nancy A. Whitehead. Sallie was a daughter of Hizer and Arminta Richardson of Putnam Co., Tennessee. The Richardsons had six children in the home in 1880. They were Washinton, Winfield, George, William, Sarah "Sal lie", and Mary Richardson. Joe and Sallie Whitehead married in Tennessee and moved to Merrimack about 1923. They were parents of Charley, Mary, Martha, Dan, Luke, Marion, Hise, Fronie, Rose, George, Simon and Monroe Whitehead. Sallie died Oct. 28, 1938. Sources: Mary Spurlock Bragg (Mrs. Adam). George D. WHITELY, MARY E., NOV. 1857 - JAN. 9, 1925. (ROW 37) Mary Elizabeth LeCroy was born in Georgia. Her first husband was a Mr. Dunn who was born in Georgia. The Dunns had one son, William, born in Tennessee in 1883. Her second husband was a Mr. Ray. Their son was Tom Ray, born in Dallas, Texas or Oklahoma in 1891. She married a Mr. Byser, a German. He died early in 1892, three months before their child, Mattie, was born in Augusta, Georgia. Henry Whitely was the fourth husband of Mary. They married about 1896. In 1900, Mary's three children were in the home with Mary and Henry Whitely. They were William Dunn, Thomas Ray, and Mattie Byser. Mary took in boarders in 1900. By 1908, Mattie and Tom applied for jobs at Merrimack Manufacturing Co. using the Whitely name. Henry died May 14, 1924, and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, Alabama. William Dunn moved to California. Tom Ray married Ella Clark, June 30, 1912. Both parties were age 21 at the time. Tom and Ella had three children; Mary, Mamie and Violet. Ella died in an accident near Decatur on Mar. 14, 1938. Daughter Mary, wife of Louie Rice died later of injuries received in the accident. Both Ella and Mary are buried in Merrimack Cemetery. Mattie Byser married John Russell, son of Amanda Russell who is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. John and Mattie Russell were parents of Nellie Russell who married Clarence McAnelly. (ROW 22) THE STONE IS BROKEN, ONLY A SMALL PORTION WITH WORDS: "A DEAR ONE_____________" In the Huntsville City Directory of 1931/32 Hubert and Ruby Whitt are listed at the address of 200 2nd Ave., West Huntsville. They were parents of one child at that time. No proof these were related to Raymond L. Whitt. 103 - (1409)
