WHRAY, THOMAS RUSSEL, DIED JULY 21, 1930. NO STONE Mr. and Mrs. Paul Whray, of 112 Pike St. , were the parents of this infant who died of colitis. The Whrays had two other children in 1930, a son and a daughter. Compiler has not seen the name "Whray" any place other than the obituary. She has found misspelling in obituaries and has doubts about this name. Source: Obituary, Huntsville Daily Times, July 21, Mon. p. 10. WIDNER, ELSIE, B. D. , JUNE 15, 1929 DAUGHTER OF MR. & MRS. C. D. WIDNER. (ROW 28) Charles David and Elsie (Morris) Widner were parents of this baby. They married in Madison County, Alabama on Oct. 24, 1915. Elsie, was born about 1896, in Tennessee. Charles was born in Alabama about 1894. Both were textile workers. In the 1920s, this couple worked in Dallas Mill and lived in that neighborhood. By 1929, they worked in Merrimack Manufacturing Co. and lived on Alpine St. Through these years they shared a home with H. W. and Cynthia Widner. By 1929, Cynthia was a widow. Miss Lillie Widner lived with them in 1929. Lillie Bell Widner, daughter of Charles David and Elsie Morris Widner married Glenn Howard Lang, son of Clint and Altie (McCutcheon) Lang on Aug. 31, 1948. Huntsville City Directory 1929/30. WILBOURNE, INFANT, NOV. 26, 1932. (ROW 13) This was a son of James Henry and Pauline Wilbourne. James Henry was a son of Amaziah and Margaret (Kirkpatrick) Wilbourne of Paint Rock Valley, Jackson Co., Alabama, who married Aug. 16, 1886. (ROW 34) WILKES, JOHN S., OCT. 18, 1872 - FEB. 5, 1956. (ROW 40) WILKES, ROLAND, 1933 - 1934. (ROW 8) WILKES, VICTORIA BELL, DEC. 13, 1875 - FEB. 17, 1948. (ROW 41) The twins, Eda and Neda were children of Buford and Jessie (Fawn) Wilkes. Buford was son of John William Wilkes. He was born in Boston, Tennessee. In the 1920 Census, Buford and Jessie had two children, Margaret and Sula, both born in Alabama. John William Wilkes was a son of James Hodge and Mary (Fielder) Wilkes. His family says he was born Feb. 4, 1850, instead of November 15 of that year. James Hodge was born May 3, 1824, and died July 11, 1880. Mary Fielder was born Aug. 21, 1826, and died May 5, 1879. Both are buried in Williamson County, Tennessee. John William Wilkes and his father were blacksmiths, and John did work for all of the textile companies in Huntsville. He 104 - (1410)
